Title: Fortnite Servers Are Down – When Will Fortnite Come Online For Chapter 7 Season 3?
Date: Fri, 05 Jun 2026 23:30:46 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/fortnite-servers-are-down-when-will-fortnite-come-online-for-chapter-7-season-3/
The end of a Fortnite Battle Royale season is a bittersweet thing, as we get lots of new toys and and a new battle pass, but we also have to say goodbye to a gameplay meta most of us only just got finally comfortable with. But the worst part is the wait for the new season to start while Fortnite is down for maintenance. Now that the Shattered live event has wrapped up and we've seen the end of the battle between the Ice King and Dwayne "The Foundation" Johnson, Fortnite has gone offline to deploy the Chapter 7 Season 3 update.
Fortunately, the wait shouldn't be too long. Typically, these updates take around 4-7 hours to get ready, and Epic is anticipating about five hours of maintenance time for the Season 3 patch. That would mean the game may come back online around 10 PM PT / 1 AM ET--early enough that folks in Europe will have all day to game, which has rarely been the case with new season launches despite the continent's massive playerbase.
That target time is just an estimate, though, and maintenance might take longer than that. Don't hold it against them if that happens. While you're waiting, you should go ahead and download the game update so you're ready when the time comes, and read our run-down on everything new you can expect when the servers come back up.
When the servers come back online, players will be greeted with a dramatically changed Battle Royale island, which is getting the biggest mid-chapter makeover in Fortnite history. They'll also be able to grind out a new battle pass, featuring a new John Wick skin with his dog as a sidekick, and the return of Dr. Slone.
Title: Everything New In Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3
Date: Fri, 05 Jun 2026 23:27:48 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/everything-new-in-fortnite-chapter-7-season-3/
With Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, summer has officially arrived in the metaverse. If you thought Epic's constant shakeups to the Battle Royale meta in Season 2 were wild, just wait 'til you get a load of this update, which adds a major new core gameplay mechanic and introduces a nearly entirely new map in the middle of the chapter. It's gonna be a lot to process, so let's dive right in.
A new map in the middle of a chapter??
Apparently so! The new map is called Shattered Coast, and features remixes of Chapter 7's POIs--so the urban landscape of Battlewood, for example, has been replaced with the forested environs of Battlewoods, complete with a running river. But it's also the wilderness between towns that benefits from an update like this, because the geography around the island is completely different.
Not every location from the Season 2 map is being remixed into something new, though. The wonderful Wonkeeland is sticking around for Season 3. So there are plenty of familiar features on the new island still.
Sprites
The critters, who we previously spent a lot of time with during Chapter 6, return in Season 3, but with big changes and many new sprite types. The sprites are, in fact, the focus of the gameplay in Season 3, like the Rivalry system was in Season 2. When you collect a sprite, it will grant you an ability based on its type, but you can also bank it at various Extraction sites around the island so you can summon it at the start of a later match. And the more times you extract each type of sprite, the more effective that type will be when you use it in future matches--and you can also level them up by getting kills with one in your inventory.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 battle pass
The new battle pass includes eight skins, as usual, with one collaboration: a cel-shaded re-do of John Wick, along with his dog as a sidekick. Purchasing the pass will instantly unlock The Guardian, a customizable mech suit driven by a sprite--extracting sprites during rounds of BR will unlock them as style options for this skin. And if you buy the pass during the first week of the season (June 6-12), you'll also instantly receive the Gold Huntress style of the Dylan skin and her accessories.
Dylan is a strangely noteworthy inclusion, because she appears to be the most scantily clad female skin Fortnite has ever had, something the children are sure to be normal about.
The pass also includes two remixes of existing skins, Heatwave PJ and Vanguard Slone, and a third, The Voidblade, which appears inspired by the item shop skin Focus. Lastly, we've got a new rubber duck man called Cluster, and a soldier called Wolfe, who's likely an old acquaintance of Slone's from the Imagined Order, judging by his mask.
New weapons and movement in Chapter 7 Season 3
We're starting Season 3 with four new weapons and one new movement item, including a collaboration gun: John Wick's Lancehead Pistol, which will let you throw the magazine when it's empty. The clips of folks winning rounds of Battle Royale using that are going to be awesome.
Beyond that, we've also got the long-range Extending Focus Shotgun, the Surgical Burst Rifle, and the Chaos Exploder Rifle, which fires exploding cubes a la Season 2's Cube Rifle. The new movement is called the Seven Sliders, which let you blast your enemies while dramatically sliding around on your knees, like if you were playing Vanquish on the Xbox 360. That's a good thing, to be clear.
Coming soon: Extraction mode?
Epic is promising a pretty strange new wrinkle for Battle Royale later in Season 3. Here's how they explain it: "There will be a small percentage chance that in some matches, the Battle Bus will rift back into the map, and you'll have a window to board it. Climb on, grapple up, get at least one teammate to the rift out point, and your team secures the Victory. Multiple teams can win this way per match!"
It's really tough to evaluate whether this is a good idea without seeing it in action, so we'll reserve judgment. But this idea seems like it might have been inspired by shenanigans players were pulling with the Stick of Truth during the South Park event, when they could choose where the storm circle would close and would frequently choose the most obnoxious places, like the middle of the ocean. But evolving that idea (the circle closes to some inconvenient spot that everyone can see) into an extraction concept with multiple potential winners sounds potentially a lot more palatable.
Title: What The Hell Do You Name The Follow-Up To N++?
Date: Fri, 05 Jun 2026 23:25:51 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/what-the-hell-do-you-name-the-follow-up-to-n/
N++ is an absolutely stellar game. I even like the unconventional name and appreciate developer Metanet Software's continued embrace of the N name first used for its original Flash creation more than two decades ago. But it's also a name that comes with some issues, perhaps best demonstrated by the game's name on Steam being followed by "(NPLUSPLUS)." So what do you do when you're making a multiplayer follow-up and need to come up with a name?
"It's always been hard for us to name these things," Metanet's Raigan Burns said when asked about the name of the newly announced N+ Infinity Times Two. "We think N was absolutely the perfect name for the original game, but unfortunately, we had a serious search-engine problem, to the point where if you go into Steam or Xbox or PlayStation and type N++, it's really hard to find our game."
It's a problem that a developer like Remedy has also no doubt dealt with; using a single, common word like "Control" is going to make your game a nightmare to search for. (I can also personally attest, as someone involved with providing feedback on the search functionality on the recently relaunched GameSpot website: Search is hard!)
Metanet was aware of the potential issues with the name for N+ going into its release, yet it was only once the game became publicly available that the extent of the problem became clear.
"It was upsetting because it was a thing we were aware of," Burns said. "When you're making a PlayStation game, there's a parallel, private version of the store. And so in that version of the store, we were the first search result when you search N++. So everything was fine until launch day. And then, [on] launch day, we discovered, oh, the public version of the store, for some reason, search works differently, and we're like on the fifth page of results. Anyways, you know, live and learn. It's just, I mean, this entire series is a process of learning from our mistakes. It's like the development of the game parallels the way the game actually plays."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jhy9HNs-u0
Having had that experience, Metanet had a lot to consider with the name for what would ultimately become N+ Infinity Times Two.
"Part of it was just like, what do we want to call this one? We went through N to the power of N, and like every symbol over the years, we've tried it. We've tried thinking of it."
Setting aside the complexity of trying to search for NN, other ideas were considered, including a hilarious alternative for a game focused on multiplayer. "At one point, this game was called M for multiplayer," Burns said.
"We even toyed with the idea of abandoning N as a moniker and just calling it something like The Ninjas. Because as much as we have this awesome fan base, statistically, 99% of people haven't played an N game in their lives, and we definitely designed this one to be the Super Mario World, where it caters to the fans of the series, but it also serves as a great jumping-off point for anyone who's never played one of these games before. So we were thinking if we call it N [Something], we're going to have a Godfather 3-type problem where we don't want to give people the impression that you need to have previous experience with the series. ... N++ was for our hardcore fans. It was absolutely, 100% a love letter to the people who have been playing for a decade."
A race to the finish in N+ Infinity Times Two
One of Metanet's desires for the name was thus to convey Infinity Times Two can appeal to a wider audience.
"It's not like I'm stuck for six hours on the same level trying to beat it. It's multiplayer. So it's like every couple minutes, the level's over, there's a winner, and then you're on to the next level. So it's a totally different kind of vibe. We exhausted every possibility. We didn't have a name we liked."
In came producer Nick Suttner, who suggested something like N Infinity. That was initially deemed to be "kind of boring," although it served as the springboard to the eventual name.
"I think Mare [Sheppard, N co-creator] had the idea of, okay, N++ was serious. We're silly people, and it had some silliness, but it was a bit serious. This one, we're really trying to embrace the fun in this [and] our silly personalities. So why not lean into the absurdity of--the whole series at this point is a bit surreally comical. So, N+ Infinity Times Two, we think, has just the right amount of playful, tongue-in-cheek, kind of self-deprecating humor that we like, while also communicating it's a different proposition than other sets of things. It's a bit unique, it's quirky, it's weird."
But just what does that "Infinity Times Two" refer to, aside from presenting players with another question of what to search for exactly (N+ Infinity x2? N Plus Infinity Times Two?)? I wondered if Metanet considered it due to the way the game emphasizes replayability and the infinite nature of a multiplayer experience.
"Not until just now," Burns says. "But that is a wonderful angle that we're certainly going to integrate into our understanding of it."
Title: How Do You Follow The Perfect Platformer? N+ Devs Think They Have The Answer
Date: Fri, 05 Jun 2026 23:25:11 +0000
Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/how-do-you-follow-the-perfect-platformer-n-devs-think-they-have-the-answer/
Mario will forever be the preeminent face of the platformer genre, but for as much as I've loved the series, there's no doubt about what one platformer I'd pick to be stuck with on a desert island: N++. The definitive 2015 version of the long-running N series was a true accomplishment; it's staggering both in terms of the quality and depth of its platforming action, and the sheer scope of the game itself, featuring thousands of hand-crafted levels, plus a level creator.
When I first heard that a new N game was in development, I was genuinely confused as to how Metanet Software could do anything more with it. Indeed developers Mare Sheppard and Raigan Burns are also of the opinion that they can't really improve on what they've already done in that space, and they also find themselves "kind of bored with the basic format of single-player platformers." And so the answer to what's next is quite simple: multiplayer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jhy9HNs-u0
Multiplayer is not new to the series, but in more fully embracing it with the curiously named N+ Infinity Times Two, it's allowed Metanet to go "perpendicular" in continuing to expand on N. N++'s best-in-class platforming appears to be intact here, based on a presentation and hands-off demonstration attended by GameSpot. The same can be said for N++'s distinct minimalistic visual style, which Burns says leverages a "cutting-edge vector-rendering system that has the equivalent of 256x anti-aliasing, which is a bit crazy" and was originally built for N++. This is what Metanet says allows for the "incredibly subtle" character movement that makes the N games feel so good.
Despite those elements carrying over here, the change to multiplayer is sure to be a controversial one, given that N has first and foremost been all about single-player platforming, dating back to the series' origins as a Flash game in 2004. My initial reaction was one of slight disappointment as someone who prefers solo games to multiplayer ones, though my feelings changed as the presentation continued. For one, that's because there will be a "full" single-player campaign, although the exact scope of it was not immediately clear. But more importantly, the new multiplayer modes look like a lot of fun.
That probably won't come as a surprise given the quality of what Metanet has put out over the years; its history as a small developer that remained fixated on perfecting N over the course of so many years does not suggest it was forced by investors to chase trends and jump on the online-multiplayer or live-service bandwagon. But what I did find surprising were some of the inspirations for Infinity Times Two, which included more expected games like TowerFall but also Rocket League, Super Smash Bros., and Quake 3.
In terms of those multiplayer modes, which support 2-4 players (with the ability to train solo), there is a mix of co-op and competitive, with some modes being new to the franchise, while others Metanet claims are new to gaming entirely. Co-op will be detailed at a later time, but we did get a glimpse of a few competitive modes. Racing involves navigating to the exit as quickly as possible, which is straightforward enough and was compared to 2D Fall Guys, but with the added wrinkle that you can get a rocket launcher to ruin your opponents' day. Team Tag has a team of ninjas accumulating score by staying alive, while hunters try to explode those ninjas by making contact with them. Other modes include Co-Op, One-Up, and Trials.
There are "5+" modes promised, and more have been prototyped and could eventually see the light of day. Metanet plans to add new levels and other content post-launch, and possibly new modes, though Burns made two things clear: They won't add modes just to increase a number and risk watering down the overall experience, and they don't want to nickel-and-dime fans. An update cadence on par with something like Rocket League is not the goal (nor does it seem possible, given Metanet's size), and both Burns and Sheppard don't enjoy the feeling in other games that they are "in a factory farm being milked for money." Burns deemed indie games to not be about money, but instead to make "the best possible experience." Beyond what Metanet builds itself, a level editor (with cross-platform sharing) offers the potential for "effectively infinite content."
Multiplayer action in N+ Infinity Times Two
Metanet also believes Infinity Times Two's three-button control scheme lends it to being very casual- and party-friendly; it should be relatively easy for anyone to pick up and play. But given this is all built on N++'s platforming--known for its high skill ceiling thanks to the momentum-based movement, wall-jumping, and fall damage--Metanet also thinks there is tournament-level, highly competitive play possible.
Multiplayer was available in N++, but by crafting the core experience around multiplayer, it has seemingly unlocked entirely new ways to play, as well as new ways to design levels. "There's an entire world of new possibilities once you change the core conversation from the single-player context of a level designer and a player conversing to a multiplayer context where it's players conversing together and the level design becomes more of a conversation starter, rather than the focus," Burns explains.
Asked about surprises they discovered in focusing on multiplayer, Sheppard says, "Multiplayer modes have made us super excited about level design again because there is so much more possibility and so much more to do with the levels, because the whole concept of them is different. Thinking of them as a place for conversations between players and a lot of dynamic things to take place, thinking of them as a background for that, is a very different way to design levels. Each multiplayer mode has such different requirements that the things we need to think about when creating spaces [are] completely new and revolutionary for us."
Developing these levels proved to be a learning process, as Metanet found it needed to reduce the number of corners and allow people to freely move through them. Its usual approach of including hazards and enemies actually took away from the fun of a mode like Team Tag. That led to an "incremental process" of removing many of these obstacles because "it's just not fun if you're chasing someone, if they get killed by running into a mine or something," Burns says.
"Team Tag levels are nothing like the levels in any other modes, and they're very much like Quake 3 levels where dead-ends are very rare, linear things are very rare. It's all about loops. Things we never thought about, like the topology--since there are two people chasing, if you have an intersection, it's two-way vs. three-way vs. four-way, it's a thing we never had to think about in the context of the games before. It's really cool."
Metanet doesn't claim to be the first-ever 2D multiplayer platformer, but the team doesn't feel any previous ones "really, fully committed." Instead, they tend to play more like single-player games that just happen to have multiple players alongside each other. Fun as that might be, "Truly multiplayer-focused 2D platforming is a completely unexplored universe."
Infinity Times Two's soundtrack was also emphasized as a point of emphasis, with Metanet having spent almost 1,500 hours over two years listening to clips of songs to find what they liked. (UK Garage music was the main reference this time around, as opposed to N++'s "burling techno.") As a developer known for having hand-crafted thousands of N++ levels, it's not shocking to hear Burns say they "can't stand" the algorithm-driven society that has become so prevalent and instead resorted to "brute forcing" this solution for assembling a soundtrack. As with levels and modes, more songs could come after launch, too.
While I'm eager to get my hands on Infinity Times Two to see how it feels for myself, it speaks to the pedigree of Metanet that I so quickly did a 180 on my initial reaction to the game's concept not being what I would have asked for. I'll surely devour the single-player campaign, but I look forward to roping my friends into the multiplayer as well. More than anything, I'm just happy to have something new to do within the excellent framework of N++ platforming.
N+ Infinity Times Two is set for release sometime in 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. Public playtests are scheduled to come at some point prior, and you can join Metanet's Discord for a chance to take part.
Title: Stellar Blade Follow-Up Blood Rain Announced, Trailer Has Some Eye-Opening Moments

This year’s Summer Games Fest brought a surprise in the form of a reveal of the next game from Stellar Blade developer Shift Up much sooner than. The game is Stellar Blade: Blood Rain and looks to continue on the high octane action delivered by the highly popular 2024 game.
The game revealed in a highly stylized and action packed trailer shows a new protagonist exploring a dystopian cyberpunk world fighting grotesque monsters with Stellar Blade’s signature stylish flair. While the first game focused on swords as its main form of offense and defense, Blood Rain seems more melee focused showing the new playable character throwing around some fisticuffs and a gratuitous moment in the form of our new protagonist removing her jacket to showcase the game’s jiggle physics.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhdh_LspRHk
Developer Shift Up has confirmed the game is in “early development” and while the first game was PS5 exclusive, don’t expect Blood Rain to be as exclusive as this entry will not be published by Sony, and Shift Up “will transition to a first-party service model. This will allow us to lead marketing strategies that fully reflect the distinctive identity of the Stellar Blade IP, and we expect to communicate the unique appeal of its universe to players more directly and effectively.”

There were some expected showings and plenty of big reveals, including the return of a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, a new Resident Evil remake, a new Cuphead game, and more. The big show-ending news was Square Enix's full reveal of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, which is coming surprisingly soon.
Title: Among Us TV show review: Someone needed to call an emergency meeting to prevent this adaptation

Link: https://www.polygon.com/among-us-tv-series-review-paramount/
I’ve always been of the opinion that the vast majority of TV and film adaptations of video games have been painted with an undeservedly bad reputation. While there have been some true stinkers over the years — shoutout to Mike Newell's offensively bad Prince of Persia movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal – there have also been some phenomenal takes on our favorite video games. Just look at Amazon's Fallout show or the Sonic the Hedgehog movies to see what a great adaptation of a video game franchise can look like.

Yet, despite all odds, the Among Us show doesn't just work. Based on the five 13-minute episodes I previewed, Among Us is a contender for one of the best animated shows of the year. Even more surprising: It's a sharply written show that can appeal to everyone, whether they've played the game or not. It's faithful to the games and constantly hilarious. But what caught me most by surprise is just how political it is. The social commentary is constant, but without feeling too on the nose or overshadowing the show as a whole.

Title: The Name’s Gaming … Cloud Gaming: ‘007 First Light’ Launches on GeForce NOW
Date: Thu, 28 May 2026 13:00:37 +0000
Link: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/geforce-now-thursday-007-first-light-launch/
License to stream, shaken and stirred.
GeForce NOW is dialing up the espionage with the launch of 007 First Light, letting members slip into James Bond’s reimagined origin story from almost any device — no tux or preloads required.
For a limited time, the game is included with the purchase of a 12‑month GeForce NOW Ultimate membership, letting members lock in Bond’s next mission and a year of top-tier cloud gaming in one shot.
And for those stepping into the role, the look comes with it. Daring Elite Outfit, a signature look capturing the spirit of a rising agent, is now available for Ultimate members — equal parts discipline, ambition and edge.
And catch Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem demo in the cloud — catch an early portion of the game and discover its two sides: terrifying survival horror with Grace Ashcroft, and pulse-pounding action with Leon S. Kennedy
This GFN Thursday also brings eight new games to the cloud, expanding the library with even more ways to play across genres.
Mission Assigned
First light, first mission.
The mission begins before the legend. 007 First Light puts players in the shoes of James Bond at the dawn of his career, when instincts are sharp, rules are flexible and every decision shapes the agent he’s destined to become. This is a Bond who’s still earning his “00” — unpolished, dangerous and learning when to trust a plan and when to improvise under fire.
A cinematic spy thriller unfolds with high-stakes infiltration, tense encounters and stylish set pieces. One moment brings thrills working undercover at an opulent event — the next, white‑knuckle chases and close‑quarters confrontations where timing and composure are everything. Approaches to each mission — quiet and calculated, bold and aggressive, or something in between — define Bond’s path and the allies and enemies that cross it.
Stream it all with GeForce RTX 50 Series GPU power in the cloud, with up to 5K high dynamic range and cinematic-quality streaming for Ultimate members. Experience Bond’s origin story in razor-sharp detail across devices — no high-end PC required.
Keep It Daring
Tailored. Tactical. Dangerously sharp.
Looks speak first.
A new 007 First Light reward drops today on GeForce NOW, delivering Ultimate members a refined, unmistakably bold way to step into the world of espionage.
The Daring Elite Outfit blends calculated precision with effortless style — the kind that turns heads before the mission even begins. Sleek, confident and just a little dangerous, it’s built for agents who understand that presence is a part of the playbook.
All rewards are available starting now through Saturday, June 27, or while supplies last. To claim, log in to a GeForce NOW account, head to the rewards section in the account portal and redeem.
Keep It Heated
Time to get heated.
Armored battles get hero-driven in Wargaming’s free-to-play, player vs. player vehicle shooter, World of Tanks: HEAT, now streaming on GeForce NOW.
World of Tanks: HEAT is the franchise’s first hero-driven tank action game, where powerful Agents and their experimental machines shape every fight. Fast-paced 5v5 and 10v10 matches erupt into high-velocity brawls as hero-enhanced tanks trade explosive bursts, clutch escapes and momentum-shifting abilities.
Each Agent brings a unique tool kit and vehicle lineup, layering team roles and synergy on top of sharp aim and smart positioning. It’s classic steel-on-steel combat with a hero-shooter twist, now available in the cloud. The next match is always just a quick deployment away on GeForce NOW.
Keep It Playing
Community stories take the spotlight this week as an Ultimate member on Reddit shares a heartfelt note about what GeForce NOW means to daily gaming.
In addition, members can look for the following:
Romestead (New release on Steam, May 26)
World of Tanks: HEAT (New release on Steam, May 26)

Title: License to Stream: ‘007 First Light’ Coming to GeForce NOW With an Ultimate Bundle
Date: Thu, 21 May 2026 13:00:22 +0000
Link: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/geforce-now-thursday-007-first-light-ultimate-bundle/
The mission begins now.
GeForce NOW is dialing up the action with a blockbuster mix of spy thrills, high-speed racing and member rewards — plus eight new games joining the cloud this week, all ready to stream instantly.
Leading the drop: the 007 First Light Ultimate Membership Bundle, which brings a brand-new way to jump into one of the year’s biggest releases and discover James Bond’s reimagined origin story.
Rev the engines — the Horizon Festival is calling. Forza Horizon 6 is now available on GeForce NOW — bringing the series’ signature open-world racing and festival energy directly to members, wherever they play. Stream a world built for speed, style and freedom instantly across devices, with no downloads required.
Step Into the Cloud of Espionage
A license to stream.
A mission worth accepting arrives. Starting today through Wednesday, June 10, 007 First Light is included with the purchase of a 12-month GeForce NOW Ultimate membership. Lock it in before the game’s launch, and it’ll be ready to play the moment it goes live on Wednesday, May 27 — no preloads, no waiting, no mission briefings required.
This is a new, original take of Bond’s story — before the tux fit perfectly and the martinis got specific. 007 First Light drops players into a sharp, cinematic origin story packed with globe-trotting espionage, close calls and choices that shape how the world’s most famous agent takes form. Expect stealth, spectacle and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.
Stream it all with GeForce RTX 50 Series GPU power in the cloud, with up to 5K high dynamic range and cinematic-quality streaming for Ultimate members. It’s high-end PC gaming, minus the high-end PC.
Redeeming the mission is simple: After purchase, get the game by going to the “Available to Redeem” section in the account portal, signing in to a Steam account and completing the redemption.
The game is for members to keep — and ready to play across devices at launch with GeForce NOW.
Welcome to the Festival
Engines roar. Crowds surge. The road stretches endlessly forward.
Forza Horizon 6 is the ultimate automotive playground — a shared world where racing, exploration and creativity come together. Every road, trail and skyline is designed to be driven, discovered and mastered.
Take on a wide range of events, from high-speed street races to off-road expeditions, or drop into live activities happening across the world. Build a garage of iconic cars spanning decades of automotive history, each brought to life with incredible detail and customization. The Horizon Festival is more than competition — it’s a celebration of car culture and music. Seamless online features connect players across events and challenges, making every session feel alive and unpredictable.
Powered by the cloud, GeForce NOW delivers the festival in stunning detail. Members experience ultrasmooth performance and vivid environments without needing to wait for installs or upgrading hardware. With technologies like NVIDIA DLSS enhancing performance and visual fidelity, every reflection, speed blur and finish-line sprint hits at full intensity.
Community Spotlight
Community-created content takes the spotlight this week, as GeForce NOW ambassador Cloud Gaming Battle sits down with Andrew Fear, GeForce NOW product manager director at NVIDIA, to dive into what makes the service tick. The conversation covers how GeForce NOW brings high-performance PC gaming from the cloud to a wide range of devices, giving a closer look at the tech, thinking and passion behind the platform. It’s a conversation that the GFN Reddit community is calling “genuinely inspirational.”
In addition, members can look for the following:

Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core (New release on Steam, May 20)
Luna Abyss (New release on Steam and Xbox, available on Game Pass, May 21)

Title: Sea You in the Cloud: ‘Subnautica 2’ Early Access Dives Onto GeForce NOW
Date: Thu, 14 May 2026 13:00:08 +0000
Link: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/geforce-now-thursday-subnautica-2/
Editor’s note: The Gaijin single sign-on feature is now up and running.
Dive masks on — Subnautica 2 is making a splash on GeForce NOW day-and-date with launch, so members can plunge into the title’s brand-new alien ocean from almost any device.
It leads 11 new games joining the cloud this week.
A limited-time HITMAN World of Assassination reward event brings signature tools of the trade — equal parts precision and unpredictability. At the same time Le Chiffre from CASINO ROYALE, played by the legendary actor Mads Mikkelsen, returns to HITMAN World of Assassination. Play for free through May 25 and earn a unique reward for 007 First Light.
Meanwhile, engines are already revving — the highly anticipated Forza Horizon 6 races onto the scene with early access, starting today for players who preordered the Premium Edition on Steam or purchased the Premium Upgrade Bundle for PC Game Pass. GeForce NOW members can jump in once early access becomes available on the service — no preinstalls or downloads needed.
It all highlights what GeForce NOW does best: turning PC gaming collections into play-anywhere experiences across devices, with no install, updates or the latest hardware required.
Making Waves
Explore the unknown with the cloud.
Jump into a shared-world ocean frontier in Subnautica 2 — where survival, exploration and creativity rise to the surface together. Every reef, trench and stormy horizon is crafted to be swum through, studied and slowly tamed as players chart their own course beneath alien waves.
Descend into a living seascape of dynamic ecosystems, mysterious ruins and creatures that range from curious to colossal. Take on story-driven missions, dive into resource-rich biomes and construct bases above and below the surface to turn hostile waters into a home. Whether playing solo or with a crew, the ocean stays vast and unpredictable.
On GeForce NOW, every current, glow and shadow streams with crisp detail and fluid performance straight from the cloud. Members can plunge into the depths in moments, skipping downloads and hardware upgrades.
Keep It Classy
Shaken, stirred and slightly unhinged.
Suit up, agent — things are getting a little explosive.
A new HITMAN World of Assassination reward event lands on GeForce NOW, giving members a stylish (and slightly unhinged) way to make an impression.
Each item leans into HITMAN’s signature tone — equal parts precision, chaos and dark humor. Here’s what’s waiting:
Free users: The Purple Streak Explosive Duck — a remote explosive disguised as an innocent rubber toy.
Performance members: The Purple Streak Explosive Duck and the Bomb Dynamite, a classic TNT bundle built for loud, messy exits.
Ultimate members: Full Ultimate Bundle — adds the Purple Streak Fiber Wire (a sleek, silent takedown tool) and the Purple Streak Swimwear Suit (a bold outfit that trades stealth for style) to the Purple Streak Explosive Duck and the Bomb Dynamite.
Starting today, all members get access to the rewards, which will remain available through Sunday, June 14, first come, first served. To claim, log in to a GeForce NOW account, head to the rewards section in the account portal and redeem.
One mission, a handful of questionable tools and a clear message: Stealth is optional, style is not.
Splashy New Games
In addition, members can look for the following:
Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes (New release on Steam, May 11)
Outbound (New release on Steam, May 11)

Less typing, more tanking.
Faster logins mean more time in the gaming action — and this week provides GeForce NOW members with a smoother path straight into the battlefield.
Cloud gaming is all about instant access to titles across devices, and the latest GeForce NOW update removes another layer for members jumping into their Gaijin libraries from anywhere.
With seven games joining the cloud this week, the action keeps growing — now backed by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 performance for Ultimate members across nearly the full GeForce NOW library, spanning both Ready-to-Play and Install-to-Play titles.
One Gaijin Login to Rule Them All
Less typing, more tanking.
Gaijin account linking is now cleared for takeoff on GeForce NOW, making it easier to jump straight into battle without extra logins. With Gaijin single sign-on, one quick sign-in connects a Gaijin.net account to the cloud, so supported titles are ready to launch with fewer clicks and no password juggling.
Just head to the GeForce NOW app on PC or Mac, dive into the settings and log in under “Connections.”
Once linked, supported Gaijin games on GeForce NOW — like the combined-arms chaos of War Thunder — are ready to stream without logging in each time. It’s the same library-first, platform-linking magic members already enjoy with Xbox, Ubisoft Connect and more, now extended to Gaijin so existing PC accounts work seamlessly across devices.
Groovy New Games
Groove or go down.
Dead as Disco from Brain Jar Games drops players into a neon-soaked fever dream where every punch, dodge and takedown hits on the beat. This rhythm-infused brawler blends stylish combat with pulsing tracks, turning each fight into a dance floor showdown. Chain combos, stay in sync and keep the groove alive as the chaos escalates. Now available to stream on GeForce NOW, it’s all about timing, flair and fighting like the music never stops
In addition, members can look for the following games, all ready to play on GeForce RTX 5080-power for Ultimate members:
Dead as Disco (New release on Steam, May 5)
HUNTDOWN: OVERTIME (New release on Steam, May 7)
Nuclear Option (Steam)
Sintopia (Steam)
Kiln (Steam and Xbox, available on Game Pass)
Hotel Architect (Steam)

Title: Hands-on report — Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve
Date: Thu, 04 Jun 2026 13:30:03 +0000
Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/06/04/hands-on-report-ace-combat-8-wings-of-theve/
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve begins with a losing war. After a lightning strike by the Republic of Sotoa, the armed forces of the Federation of Central Usea are struggling to survive — and as an FCU fighter pilot, you’re joining the remnants of a military that’s barely holding on.
After playing through several of the campaign missions in Ace Combat 8, I got a sense of how developer Project Aces is telling its story of a desperate aircraft carrier crew trying to keep the battle going, and how you’ll rise to become a hotshot fighter ace, and a source of hope, for the embattled FCU.

The story of a war “hero”
A propaganda campaign is at the center of Ace Combat 8’s story. When you first arrive aboard the aircraft carrier Endurance, you’re introduced to the plan to keep the FCU going: a social media blitz focused on a legendary pilot known as the Wings of Theve, named for the FCU’s capital city. But in truth, the Wings is just Rex, an amiable but ordinary pilot whose job is to serve as a figurehead and whose exploits are greatly exaggerated. His true orders are to make an appearance in every engagement, and then run away and stay alive.
You join Rex as his navigator, but things don’t go well during that first mission; you’re shot down by enemy aces, and Rex is killed. But after you’re rescued, to keep the lie alive, you’re tasked with taking on the “Rex” callsign and playing the role of the Wings of Theve.
Ace Combat 8 conveys all this story through immersive, first-person cinematics that are a new choice for the series — one that Brand Manager Kazutoki Kono said was inspired by the team’s work on the PlayStation VR modes in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. The perspective adds a lot of emotional weight to Ace Combat 8, capturing the sense of struggle aboard the Endurance and the pressure of carrying the war’s morale on your back and commanding Joker Flight, Rex’s four-fighter team.
Becoming a fighter ace
Though your job as the Wings of Theve is initially just to stay alive, your presence and skills quickly change the tone for Joker Flight. When enemy fighters show up on your first mission, you quickly prove that the Wings of Theve can be more than just an inspiring ghost story.
The Ace Combat series does a good job of keeping complex flight controls simple and easy to learn, so it doesn’t feel like you need flight sim-level knowledge to become a top gun. Fans of Ace Combat 7 will be right at home with Ace Combat 8, which maintains the experience from the 2019 game, but with some new bells and whistles thanks to the PS5 Dual Sense controller. Resistance in the haptic triggers adds intensity to accelerating with R2, decelerating with L2, and executing high-G turns by holding both, telegraphing through your hands how powerful your aircraft really is.
Whether attacking other planes in the air or strafing targets on the ground, your goal is often to keep enemies in your sights long enough to lock on and fire missiles or special weapons with Circle or your machine gun with X. You can quickly swap lock-ons with Triangle to find new targets and swap weapons with Square. The controls are easy to pick up, but there’s complexity in flying your plane, and you’re going to need to build your skills to survive some of Ace Combat 8’s later sorties.
Project Aces has very much avoided fixing anything that isn’t broken when it comes to gameplay, with battles feeling fast and chaotic as you dodge incoming missiles and try to line up your guns against enemy planes. With your comrades at your wing, you can also issue orders with the directional buttons, sending them to attack a specific target, allowing them to scatter and engage at will, calling them back to cover you, or telling them to switch to any special weapons you’ve equipped them with and go on the attack.
At some points, you can also make story decisions about how the team will proceed. During one mission I played, you engage an enemy squadron filled with friends of Rex’s wingman, Professor. He asks you to avoid killing the pilots as you shoot them down, and you can choose whether to agree to that request. It doesn’t seem that your decisions will greatly alter how the story plays out, but Kono said choices like this, as well as how well you fare when you’re tasked with defending allied forces such as naval ships, can affect which characters survive into future missions and story beats.
A series of desperate battles
Ace Combat 8 shines in conveying the stakes of the war you’re fighting as your successes cause the legend of the Wings of Theve to grow — along with the hopes and expectations of your fellow soldiers.
In one mission I previewed, the ragtag FCU forces work to take down a ridiculously huge, incredibly dangerous Land Battleship. The ship, which is basically a navy destroyer combined with a tank, is nearly indestructible, and the FCU plans to use trucks loaded with bombs to try to take out its treads. Your mission is first to protect the trucks, then attack the treads.
Even on Ace Combat 8’s normal difficulty, the mission was tough — the Land Battleship is decked out with powerful rail guns, as well as anti-aircraft cannons and deployable drones. The fight takes place in a massive city center, so you not only have to dodge all sorts of incoming fire, but do your best not to crash into the buildings as well. The only hope to defeat the land battleship is for the FCU to demolish skyscrapers in the ship’s path, slowing it down and eventually trapping it.
The mission really ratchets up the scale of the war and channels the emotions felt by the FCU’s forces. Radio chatter is nothing new to Ace Combat 8, but in all the missions I played, that chatter captures the chaotic and often desperate tone of the moment, as commanders, officers, soldiers on the ground, and your wingmen all fill the airwaves, issuing orders and reacting to what’s happening.
As we arced around the land battleship, fighting interceptors and protecting the trucks, Ace Combat 8 not only used the chatter to convey critical mission info in the moment, it sold the story of frightened soldiers doing everything they can to stop an overwhelming force as they fought for their home.
It’s that storytelling, coupled with fast-paced battles and memorable characters, that make grabbing the stick in Ace Combat 8 an exciting prospect. But you don’t have to take my word for it. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve hits PlayStation 5 on October 2.

Original Assassin's Creed creative director Patrice Désilets and his team at Panache Digital Games have announced a new version of 1666: Amsterdam, the supernatural history game Désilets once worked on a lifetime ago at THQ Montreal. What's more, the game now has a 30 minute prologue on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with an early access release coming later this year.

Friends, it is almost time to be very, very sad because a massive metal man fell over and died. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus creator Fumito Ueda has dropped the first proper footage of his forthcoming mech game project, announced back in 2024 with the codename Project Robot. The official title is Gen Atlas.
Ueda and development studio genDESIGN have also shared details of the game's plot and setting. It's described as "a single-player, open-world action-adventure game", and takes place on an abandoned, "living" planet full of derelict machines.

Title: Tupac Shakur joins Snoop Dogg in Stranger Than Heaven, which also has a release date once you've finished getting over the whole dead rapper cameo business

Right. So. Stranger Than Heaven, the Like A Dragon/Yakuza devs' hop through different decades of 20th century Japanese history? You're probably already aware that Snoop Dogg's in it. Well, a digitally resurrected version of fellow rapper Tupac Shakur's also in it. For reasons. Reasons that I'm sure will be readily apparent when Stranger Than Heaven comes out in January 2027.

Creative Assembly and Sega have screened the first proper trailer for Alien: Isolation 2, confirming in the process that the new xenomorph horror game is set on a planet. A planet of windy trees, thick fog, and much wreckage. There is a cage with the bars cracked and bent outward. I'm pretty sure they weren't keeping spare fuel cells in there. Read more
Title: MIA action-adventure Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin resurfaces in the hands of noted katana enthusiasts Platinum Games

Platinum Games, the game development studio that evidently are to edged weapon action games what Marks & Spencer are to inoffensive socks, are making a TMNT game. It’s called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, it’s being published by Paramount Games Studio, and it’s just been announced as part of Summer Game Fest 2026.
Keener fans of pizza-gnawing reptiles will remember that there was already a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin game in development at Destroy All Humans! remake studio Black Forest Games, to be published by THQ Nordic. Unfortunately, it seems that mass layoffs at the former have taken their toll, and Paramount – TMNT’s rights holders – have asked Platinum to have a go instead. Here’s the teaser trailer for the new version, which doesn’t show much, except that it's likely a close adaptation of the (unusually grim) Turtles comic of the same name.
