Title: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro Update CD Projekt Red Once Said No To Is Almost Here Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 10:06:00 -0700 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/cyberpunk-2077-ps5-pro-update-cd-projekt-red-once-said-no-to-is-almost-here/1100-6539252/?ftag=CAD-01-10abi2f After the PS5 Pro launched, many players wanted a Cyberpunk 2077 update, but CD Projekt Red originally said it had no plans to use the console’s extra power. Now, in 2026, that has changed thanks to a major upgrade to the PS5 Pro's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution upscaling technology. This update arrives on April 8, and CDPR has shared details about the new features players will see when they revisit Night City. The first big change is that Cyberpunk 2077 will now have 4K visuals and advanced ray tracing. Kuba Knapik, CDPR's VP global art director, said the studio added BVH8--or 8-way Bounding Volume Hierarchy--to bring more advanced ray-traced lighting, shadows, and reflections to the game. This helps bring the team's original artistic vision to life.Players will have three graphics modes to pick from. Ray Tracing Pro turns on all ray tracing features. Performance mode focuses on the highest frame rate. Ray Tracing mode offers a balance between performance and quality, with some ray tracing effects and a target of 60 frames per second.Continue Reading at GameSpot
Title: Call Of Duty's Dave Chappelle Skin Shows Where Activision Really Stands On Inclusivity Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 09:37:00 -0700 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/call-of-dutys-dave-chappelle-skin-shows-where-activision-really-stands-on-inclusivity/1100-6539248/?ftag=CAD-01-10abi2f It's almost that time of year again, when every corporate entity temporarily gives its logo a rainbow makeover and publicly reaffirms its commitment to inclusivity. But before we get to Pride Month, we have to get through 4/20, which Call of Duty is celebrating with a pair of skins depicting Thurgood Jenkins, the fictional character from 1998's Half Baked, played by comedian and noted transphobe Dave Chappelle."There's something going on at Frankencense & Burr Pharmaceutical, and Thurgood Jenkins is right in the middle of it," reads a recent Activision blog post announcing the upcoming collaboration. "The master of custodial arts takes his chance to have some fun and save a friend, memorialized in this Bundle inspired by the 1998 hit comedy, Half Baked."I'm old enough to remember the days when Chappelle was known for being funny rather than being a bigot. I grew up watching Chappelle's Show, and like many comedy fans, genuinely enjoyed the guy's work until he started making unfunny jokes about the LGBTQ+ community, with a large amount of vitriol aimed at the trans community and female sexual assault victims specifically.Continue Reading at GameSpot
Title: Dropout's Game Changer Is Becoming A Board Game Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 09:36:00 -0700 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/dropouts-game-changer-is-becoming-a-board-game/1100-6539253/?ftag=CAD-01-10abi2f Players who enjoy rule-bending chaos rejoice: Game Changer is becoming a board game. The cult-favorite series from Dropout--hosted by Sam Reich (was he here the whole time?)--has built a strong following online thanks to its deceptively simple premise: Players don't know the rules until the game is already underway. That unpredictability (and a steady stream of viral clips) has helped turn it into one of Dropout's breakout hits, and now it's getting a tabletop adaptation called Game Changer: Home Edition.Dropout has dabbled in this space before with the Um, Actually game, which translated its nitpicky trivia format into something surprisingly party-friendly. Game Changer is a very different beast. Instead of testing knowledge, it thrives on pulling the rug out from under players. So expect shifting rules, weird prompts, and the kind of escalating absurdity that makes you question whether winning was ever the goal, so very much in vein with the show that's racked up millions of views across social media. The game is launching on Kickstarter on May 5, 2026, and yeah--this could probably just go straight to stores, but the crowdfunding route gives the team room to adjust things based on fan response and avoid over- or under-printing what's easily their most chaotic concept yet. It also fits a show that's always thrived on audience energy and surprise.Continue Reading at GameSpot
Title: This Turn-Based RPG Musical Is Fun But Drags A Bit In Act 3 | People Of Note Review Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 09:25:00 -0700 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/this-turn-based-rpg-musical-is-fun-but-drags-a-bit-in-act-3-people-of-note-review/1900-6418478/?ftag=CAD-01-10abi2f People of Note was clearly made with lots of love, but it is also a deeply silly game. Conflicts are resolved between musicians flinging music at each other, a simple country-wide road trip transforms into a battle to save all of reality, and somehow everyone is convinced that the power of friendship will somehow overcome an ancient eldritch-like power. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this game was an old-school role-playing game. And, to be fair, People of Note shares a lot of parallels with those games. While that means the strengths of those types of games are present in People of Note--notably the music and world design in its case--it also means that some of the shortcomings that can be found in the weaker installments of the genre are present in Iridium Studios' turn-based RPG too.People of Note sees would-be pop star Cadence striving to fulfill her dream of winning a singing competition and getting propelled into fame. Worried that the pop song she's prepared isn't strong enough to sway the judges, she sets out through the land of Note in search of people who can add to her song. Her journey takes her to a desert where everyone is all about different kinds of rock music, a futuristic metropolis blanketed in perpetual night and inhabited by EDM-obsessed disc jockeys, a block-shaped party city that's all about rap and hip hop, and so much more. And all the while, repeated references to an event known as the Harmonic Convergence steel you for what will eventually be a sharp tonal shift away from road-trip comedy to dramatic high fantasy.Your enjoyment of this story is really going to come down to how much you like puns and pop culture references--People of Note's humor is not unlike Borderlands 2 or Saints Row IV. The game rides the line between funny and corny well enough for me, save for one moment in the third act that made me cringe so hard, I contemplated simply not playing any more of the game that day. But I also enjoy games like Borderlands and Saints Row. If you're not a fan of the idea of a story that takes every single conceivable musical term and crafts a whole high-fantasy society and plotline with said terms, People of Note is probably going to grate.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Title: Wardogs is proudly not a ‘Battlefield killer,’ but has some intense game design ideas Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 17:51:33 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/wardogs-arms-dealer-day-trader/ Wardogs is an upcoming multiplayer FPS game from Bulkhead, which developed the once-successful Battalion 1944. Described as "tactical all-out warfare," the team is adamant that Wardogs will occupy a middle ground in the genre between arcade-like shooters such as Call of Duty and Battlefield, and hardcore simulators like Arma or Escape From Tarkov.
Title: Crimson Desert's endgame may be lacking, but there's a secret fix Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 16:58:51 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/crimson-desert-reed-devil-mask-not-enough-enemies/ Crimson Desert is a massive game with hundreds of hours of content, but in the three weeks since its release, players have already exhausted basically everything the game has to offer. One of the biggest player complaints, of those who have made it to the endgame, is that there aren't enough enemies to fight. For example, Reddit user D3vilK4i complained that "after clearing regions and progressing far enough in the main quest, the map becomes too empty of enemies."
Title: Elden Ring cutscene discovered 4 years later leaves fans awestruck Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 16:29:29 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/elden-ring-miquella-haligtree-cutscene-malenia-lore-discovery/ After a massive expansion and an entire spinoff game, you'd think that there couldn't possibly be anything new to discover in the world of Elden Ring. Fans have already spent years perusing game files for hidden lore details, if not outright reconstructing cut content from the dark, open-world game. Yet here we are in 2026, still discovering new, never-before-seen material hidden within FromSoftware's beloved RPG.
Title: Finn Jones will be back as Iron Fist for Daredevil: Born Again season 3, here's why that's good news Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 16:21:35 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/daredevil-born-again-season-3-iron-fist-return/ Last Friday, photos from the set of Daredevil: Born Again began to circulate featuring Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist. This means that we’re getting a reunion of all four of Netflix’s Defenders stars in Daredevil: Born Again’s third season. Since we know that Ritter is returning during this currently ongoing second season, her presence isn’t a big surprise. Even Colter’s return as Luke Cage, while not previously confirmed, has been something fans have been demanding. The biggest shock, no doubt, is Jones’ return, as Netflix’s Iron Fist series was widely panned.
Title: MTG's Strixhaven: Omens of Chaos excerpt reveals a multiverse in recovery Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 16:00:18 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/mtg-strixhaven-omens-of-chaos-book-excerpt/ Written by Seanan McGuire, Omens of Chaos is Magic’s first full-length novel since 2019’s two War of the Spark books, Ravnica and Forsaken. And Crimson Desert, which recently surpassed 3 million wishlist additions on Steam, debuts in the cloud with GeForce RTX 5080‑class power. Catch it as part of four new games on GeForce NOW VR, but Make It 90 FPS Power levels rising … to 90 fps. VR in the cloud is getting a smoothness upgrade. GeForce NOW is boosting support for Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest devices and Pico devices to stream at up to 90 fps for Ultimate members, bringing crisper motion and more responsive gameplay straight from the cloud. The app update is starting to roll out to members starting today. Members can transform the space around them into a personal gaming theater with GeForce NOW, playing favorite PC titles on a massive virtual screen. With support for up to 90 fps for Ultimate members, gameplay feels smoother, movement more natural and action more comfortable. A Storm Brews Into the cloud with “Crimson Desert.” Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert, a stunning, open‑world action adventure set in a war‑torn fantasy land, pairs large‑scale exploration with cinematic storytelling and hard‑hitting, combo‑focused combat. One moment is a quiet ride across windswept plains, the next is a chaotic clash against towering foes with mystical power effects lighting up the battlefield. Follow Kliff, a mercenary whose close‑knit group is destroyed in a sudden ambush. The journey centers on exploring a massive, detailed world, taking on story missions, riding mounts, finding supplies and facing dangerous enemies as Kliff works to bring his scattered companions back together. GeForce NOW brings 5080-class power to the game across supported devices, delivering high settings, smooth action and lush visuals without the need to worry about system specs. Members can jump into its cinematic battles and sweeping landscapes on the device of their choice, from low‑spec laptops to compatible TVs and mobile devices. Joining the Family It’s time to make an offer no tank can refuse. World of Tanks is rolling out the red carpet for Battle Pass Special: Mafia from March 19-29, welcoming the respectable family from the fine city of Lost Heaven and bringing their signature mix of loyalty, ambition and firepower to the battlefield. Recruit iconic characters from 2K’s original Mafia game, unlock stylish 2D looks like Little Italy and Lost Heaven Noir, and command the Italian Predatore tank to make sure every deal ends with a bang. Title: GeForce NOW Raises the Game at the Game Developers Conference Date: Thu, 12 Mar 2026 13:00:53 +0000 Link: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/geforce-now-thursday-gdc-2026/ GeForce NOW is bringing the game to the Game Developers Conference (GDC), running this week in San Francisco. While developers build the future of gaming, GeForce NOW is delivering it to gamers. The latest updates bring smoother performance, easier game discovery and a fresh lineup of blockbuster titles to the cloud. Game discoverability gets a boost with new in‑app labels for connected accounts for Xbox Game Pass and Ubisoft+. It’ll be easier than ever to see titles already available through linked subscriptions, so members can seamlessly jump into games they already own. Virtual reality gets a smooth upgrade — supported devices now stream at 90 frames per second (fps), up from 60 fps, delivering more responsive and immersive virtual reality (VR) experiences. Account linking is also leveling up. Following Gaijin single sign-on announced at CES in January, GOG account linking and game library syncing are coming soon. The GeForce NOW library continues to grow with new releases joining the cloud at launch: CONTROL Resonant and Samson: A Tyndalston Story. Plus, select Xbox titles will join the Install-to-Play library. In addition, there’s a lineup of five new games to catch this week, including Capcom’s Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, on top of the latest update for Fortnite. Gaming Is Buzzing GeForce NOW is rolling into GDC with an easier way to keep track of titles, as well as performance upgrades and a growing lineup of major titles ready to stream at launch. Keeping track of which game lives on which service can be tricky. In‑App labels — coming soon to GeForce NOW for connected subscriptions — will help make it simple for members to know exactly what games they can play on GeForce NOW. Once a member connects their Xbox Game Pass Account or Ubisoft+ account, clear labels will appear directly on the game art inside the GeForce NOW app — eliminating guesswork and making it easy to see exactly what’s available to play from their game subscription services. Set it and forget it. Account linking is expanding too. On top of Gaijin single sign-on, GeForce NOW is adding GOG account linking and game library syncing in the coming months.               Smooth moves. Virtual reality is also getting an upgrade. Starting Thursday, March 19, VR devices that GeForce NOW supports, including Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest and Pico devices, will stream at 90 fps for Ultimate members, an increase from 60 fps. The higher frame rate enhances smoothness, responsiveness and realism across every session — whether gamers are chasing enemies through neon-lit streets or exploring far‑flung alien worlds. GeForce NOW’s Install‑to‑Play library is also expanding with select Xbox titles, including Brutal Legend from Double Fine Productions and Contrast from Compulsion Games. These additions bring more flexibility for members to download and install their owned games alongside streaming favorites. That’s just the start. Highly anticipated games are headed to the cloud at launch: Bending reality. CONTROL Resonant — Remedy’s upcoming action‑adventure role-playing game (RPG) that blends supernatural powers with a warped Manhattan facing a reality-bending cosmic threat. Unravel a family story steeped in myths. Samson: A Tyndalston Story — the game from Liquid Swords is a gritty action brawler, set in the city of Tyndalston, launching on PC. Free to Save the World Chaos in the cloud. Fortnite’s original adventure is back in the spotlight — and soon, it’ll free to play. Fortnite first launched in 2017 as a story-driven co‑op experience, and on Thursday, April 16, the “Save the World” update will officially be free to play for all players. Pre-registration begins on Thursday, March 12. Join forces against hordes of husks, solo or with the squad, in a player vs. environment action-packed story, complete with gathering, crafting and collecting. Pick a favored playstyle with four distinct classes to choose from, over 150 heroes and weapons to upgrade, and loadout customization options to hone builds even further. With hundreds of updates since its original launch and over 100 hours of content, squads can build, grind gear and engineer elaborate homebase defenses to keep the Storm King at bay. “Save the World” isn’t available on mobile devices, including tablets. On GeForce NOW, Fortnite “Save the World” streams straight from the cloud — no waiting around for updates or patches. Low‑latency streaming keeps building, shooting and trap placement feeling snappy across supported devices. Stay in the action with GeForce NOW. Title: NVIDIA Virtualizes Game Development With RTX PRO Server Date: Tue, 10 Mar 2026 15:30:07 +0000 Link: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/gdc-2026-virtual-game-development/ Game development teams are working across larger worlds, more complex pipelines and more distributed teams than ever. At the same time, many studios still rely on fixed, desk-bound GPU hardware for critical production work. At the Game Developers Conference (GDC) this week in San Francisco, NVIDIA is showcasing a new approach to bring together disparate workflows using virtualized game development on NVIDIA RTX PRO Servers, powered by NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs and NVIDIA vGPU software. With the RTX PRO Server, studios can centralize and virtualize core workflows across creative, engineering, AI research and quality assurance (QA) — all on shared GPU infrastructure in the data center.  This enables teams to maintain the responsiveness and visual fidelity they expect from workstation-class systems while improving infrastructure utilization, scalability, data security and operational consistency across teams and locations. Simplifying Complex Workflows As game development studios scale, hardware can often sit underutilized in one location while other teams wait to access it for production work. QA capacity is hard to expand quickly. Over time, workstation hardware, drivers and tools diverge, making bugs harder to reproduce. AI workloads are often isolated on separate infrastructure, creating more operational overhead.  The NVIDIA RTX PRO Server helps studios move from workstation-by-workstation scaling to centralized GPU infrastructure. Studios can pool resources, allocate performance by workload and support parallel development, testing and AI workflows without expanding physical workstation sprawl. Centralized GPU infrastructure enables studios to run AI training, simulation and game automation workloads overnight, then dynamically reallocate the same resources to interactive development during the day, improving overall utilization and reducing idle capacity. The NVIDIA RTX PRO Server supports virtualized workflows for 3D graphics and AI across the game development lifecycle for: Artists: Providing virtual RTX workstations for traditional 3D and generative AI content-creation workflows. Developers: Powering consistent, high-performance engineering environments for coding and 3D development. AI researchers: Offering large-memory GPU profiles for fine-tuning, inference and AI agents. QA teams: Enabling scalable game validation and performance testing using the same NVIDIA Blackwell architecture used by GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. This allows studios to support multiple teams — including across sites and contractors — on one common GPU platform, improving collaboration and reducing debugging issues that can arise from disparate hardware. Supporting AI and Engineering on Shared Infrastructure AI is becoming a core part of everyday game development, spanning coding, content creation, testing and live operations. As these workflows expand, studios need infrastructure that can support AI alongside traditional graphics workloads without introducing separate, siloed systems. With the RTX PRO Server, studios can support coding agents, internal model experimentation and AI-assisted production workflows without spinning up a separate AI stack for every team. The NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPU features a massive 96GB memory buffer, enabling developers to run multiple demanding applications simultaneously while supporting AI inference on larger models directly alongside real-time graphics workflows. NVIDIA Multi-Instance GPU (MIG) technology partitions a single GPU into isolated instances with dedicated memory, compute and cache resources. Combined with NVIDIA vGPU software, MIG can help studios securely allocate GPU capacity across users and workloads. In combined MIG and vGPU configurations, a single RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPU can support up to 48 concurrent users, maximizing utilization while maintaining performance isolation. Enterprise-Ready Deployment for Game Studios NVIDIA RTX PRO Servers are designed for enterprise-grade data-center operations. Studios can deploy virtual workstations on RTX PRO Servers via NVIDIA vGPU on supported hypervisor and remote workstation platforms. That means RTX PRO Servers can fit into studios’ existing infrastructure and IT practices, rather than requiring one-off deployments. Major game publishers already use NVIDIA vGPU technology to scale centralized development infrastructure and improve efficiency at studio scale. Learn more about the NVIDIA RTX PRO Server. See these workflows live by joining NVIDIA’s booth 1426 at GDC or attending NVIDIA GTC, running March 16-19 in San Jose, California.  See notice regarding software product information.

Title: Cyberpunk 2077 PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements detailed Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 16:00:04 +0000 Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/04/07/cyberpunk-2077-playstation-5-pro-enhancements-detailed/ The world of Cyberpunk 2077 is all about pushing technology forward, and we like to bring at least some of that Night City energy to our development process too. Players have been asking about this for a long time, so we’re super excited to finally reveal the details of our free Cyberpunk 2077 PlayStation 5 Pro update, available tomorrow, April 8. We wanted to make the most of the PS5 Pro’s cutting-edge technology by bringing 4K visuals, powered-up performance, advanced ray tracing, and more to the Cyberpunk 2077 experience. The goal was to bring the very best out of both the hardware and our game to make Night City shine as brightly as possible. With Cyberpunk 2077 currently available in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, anyone who owns a PS5 Pro can experience this enhanced version of our action role-playing game and fight to become a cyberpunk legend. Let’s talk specifically about how this update enhances players’ experience, starting with PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This tech goes through each pixel, one by one, and upscales it using advanced artificial intelligence. The result is incredible, with every inch of Night City — every thermal katana, every gonk on the street, every supercharged sports car — coming to life. Next is an upgrade to our ray tracing technology. Lighting is a key pillar of the Cyberpunk 2077 aesthetic — the way Night City lights up as day turns to dusk, when the streets glow under the oppressive neon signage of megacorps, is part of the entire visual identity of this world. With the PS5 Pro Update, we implemented BVH8 (8-way Bounding Volume Hierarchy) support to implement ray-traced lighting, shadows, and reflections, bringing the lighting even closer to our artistic vision for this world. Imagine the sunlight catching off the front fairing of your Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X as you park up, depart down a mysterious dark alley, and uncover secrets glowing under neon light. Players’ overall immersion in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 gets a serious boost from PS5 Pro. Speaking of ray tracing, more power also means more options. We know players have different priorities while gaming, so are happy to offer three distinct PS5 Pro modes that allow everyone to unlock an experience that suits them. Ray Tracing Pro enables all available ray tracing enhancements, delivering the most visually advanced version of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 Pro. This includes ray-traced reflections, ambient occlusion, skylight, shadows, and emissive lighting, all active while Cyberpunk 2077 targets 40 frames per second on variable refresh rate-enabled displays or 30 frames per second otherwise. On the other end of the spectrum, Performance mode focuses on delivering the highest possible frame rate for fast and fluid gameplay. On displays with VRR, Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 Pro reaches up to 90 frames per second while maintaining high image fidelity. And finally, for those seeking the best of both, we designed Ray Tracing mode as the sweet spot between visuals and performance. It features select ray tracing enhancements while maintaining a smooth 60 frames per second, meaning improvements across the board. We’re incredibly excited to bring this update to our players on PS5 Pro. The Cyberpunk 2077 community has been nothing short of incredible over the last five years, and we know many people have been keeping their fingers crossed for this update. Plus, with Cyberpunk 2077 currently available at no extra cost to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members through the Games Catalog, we’re hoping to welcome some new legends into Night City too.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support of Cyberpunk 2077, and I wish new players the very best of experiences!
Title: Drop Duchy Complete Edition drops April 21 on PlayStation 5 Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2026 14:00:23 +0000 Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/04/07/drop-duchy-complete-edition-drops-april-21-on-playstation-5/ On April 21, Drop Duchy Complete Edition launches on PS5. It’s a strategy game about building a kingdom, making tough choices, and sometimes watching everything fall apart. I’m JB, the game director, and I’d like to tell you how this project grew from a small idea into the game it is today. So, how did the idea start? The initial spark came from the realization that I enjoy playing tile-laying board games but couldn’t find many video games built around such mechanics. I was telling myself: imagine if there was a forest tile, and when you place a “Lumber camp” tile next to it, you gain some wood, which you can then spend to build on another tile. And thus the core of Drop Duchy was born. Once this basic idea was in place, I had ideas for many more buildings and terrains, but it also opened the door to many questions. Figuring out the answers took many iterations in the early phases of the project. I opted for a medieval theme because I love this time period, but that begged the question: how do I fit combat into it? I tried different ideas before landing the final design but one thing that remained throughout was the mechanic of forcing the player to place enemy tiles, too (and making them think about how to negate their effect). Then there were questions about the structure: how do you win or lose? When does it end? What makes each game varied? And the answers came naturally once we started introducing roguelite elements. Mechanics like procedural runs and having to draft your buildings from a random selection were making for diverse runs where you had to figure out a new strategy each time. The tension of losing your progress if you lost a fight added stakes to each decision. From an outside perspective, Drop Duchy looked like a lot of mechanics at once, so we had to playtest heavily the early prototypes to make sure everything was intuitive and flowing smoothly from one part to the next. As a game developer, there is no better feeling than handing a controller to a friend and, instead of politely going “ok, this is a nice prototype,” they can’t stop playing for hours. I knew I had something good in my hands. After pitching and signing with The Arcade Crew, I hired two artists to bring the game to life: Gautier & Tom. They worked in tandem to create the charming atmosphere of *Drop Duchy* while keeping the gameplay readable: we had to make sure you could immediately recognize the different terrains and buildings. One bold choice they made, for instance, was to use 2D trees, giving the game a diorama feel. Meanwhile, the rest of the team and I spent most of the production adding lots of content to the game, new buildings, new game modes, new bosses, etc., and constantly playtesting to make sure the balance was in check. For instance, we put a lot of effort into the design of factions, which are the “characters” you select before starting the run. Each faction brings its unique gameplay twists and specialties: The Republic builds a massive, sprawling city, and The Order can recruit and send crusaders on expeditions. The Complete Edition that comes out on PS5 also includes the two additional factions we’ve added since release: the druids of the Tribe and the Vikings of The North. I’m really proud of how both factions ended up because their apparent “weaknesses” can be turned into fantastic strengths once the player figures out the right strategy. On top of these factions, PlayStation players will be able to start their journey enjoying all the additions we’ve made since launch. We’ve added new bosses (including a mighty one that steals your buildings), a challenging ascension mode to test your skills, and endless runs if you want to push your deck to the limits. We’ve also used player feedback to introduce quality-of-life options (such as a button to undo accidental moves). Looking back, it’s crazy to think that all of this started with a simple tile-laying prototype. I’m incredibly proud of what the team and I built, and I can’t wait for you to experience it on PS5. Drop Duchy Complete Edition launches on April 21, so if you enjoy strategy games that reward experimentation and smart decisions, I think Drop Duchy will be right in your alley.

Title: Wrath: Aeon of Ruin VR – Brutal Edition launches on PS VR2 April 9 Date: Mon, 06 Apr 2026 15:00:03 +0000 Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/04/06/wrath-aeon-of-ruin-vr-brutal-edition-launches-on-ps-vr2-april-9/ In just a few days, Wrath: Aeon of Ruin VR – Brutal Edition comes to PlayStation VR2. Ahead of this week’s launch, we wanted to give PS VR2 players a closer look at what this project really is, what makes Brutal Edition different, and why this version of Wrath feels so at home on PlayStation. We’re also debuting our new gameplay trailer today, making this the right moment to step inside the Old World before the hunt begins. Play Video Wrath has always carried the bloodline of classic shooters. It was conceived in the same Quake engine lineage that played a major role in Team Beef’s formation, which made the project feel like a natural fit from the start. The speed was there. The old-school structure was there. The sense of pressure, movement, and hostile space was already there. In that sense, it feels fitting that Wrath has become Team Beef’s first officially licensed VR game, rooted in the very same shooter DNA that has defined so much of their work. But what emerged from that foundation has become far more than a straight VR Adaptation. Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. Why this is the Brutal Edition This is not just a port of the existing game. Before Team Beef could truly make Wrath feel right in VR, they first had to fix and refine the version they inherited, then rebuild it around the things VR does best: speed, physicality, pressure, and presence. That is what Brutal Edition means. Wrath was not simply moved into a headset. It was sharpened, rebalanced, and rebuilt until it felt like it belonged there. A lot of that comes down to how the game moves and fights now. Wrath is built around momentum, and Brutal Edition leans into that harder than ever. A new slide mechanic keeps you low and aggressive without killing your speed. Blade dash has been turned into a real combat tactic, letting you cut lines, reposition under pressure, and stay on the attack instead of treating movement like a break between fights. Dual wielding is now a major part of the rhythm, giving players tighter control, reduced recoil, and access to alt-fire where it matters. Flick reloads keep the pace intact so the action never loses its bite. The rest of the experience has been rebuilt with the same philosophy. Artifacts are no longer simple screen prompts. They are physical objects you throw, break, deploy, and use under pressure. The UI has been moved onto the hand. The journal is now a physical book you pull over your shoulder and navigate in-world. The Shepherd now speaks, giving the world more presence and atmosphere. Blood, gore, and impact have all been pushed much further, because subtle was never going to be the goal here. Even new additions like slow motion and the way-point guidance system are in service of the same idea: make Wrath feel faster, clearer, more tactile, and more violent in VR. Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. Why PS VR2 is the best way to experience it If Brutal Edition is the definitive version of Wrath, then PS VR2 is where that brutality hits hardest. It starts with performance. Wrath is a fast game, full of crowd pressure, violent movement, and split-second reactions, so clean native performance is not optional. On PS VR2, it runs at a smooth native 90Hz, with eye-tracked dynamic foveated rendering helping make that frame rate possible and built-in super-sampling keeping the image razor sharp. The result is combat that stays readable and immediate, even when fights turn into a blur of projectiles, dashes, and close-range chaos. Then there is the way Wrath feels in your hands. Adaptive triggers give every shot more mechanical tension, making each weapon feel closer to a real trigger pull. The refined HD haptics in the DualSense controllers go even further. Each gun has its own feel and pattern, which gives the arsenal more identity the second you pick it up. The haptics here are simply on another level, and in a shooter this physical, that matters. Headset rumble adds to that bodily feedback, making every close-range exchange feel heavier and more present. PS VR2 also gives Wrath the kind of screen it deserves. This is a world of black skies, ruined stone, deep shadows, and decaying atmosphere. HDR OLED visuals give those spaces the contrast and depth they need, making the Old World feel even darker and more oppressive. Sound matters just as much. Wrath uses highly immersive 3D audio, powered by Sony’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, to make threats feel like they are closing in from every direction. In a game where awareness can mean the difference between controlling a room and getting swallowed by it, that kind of spatial sound is not just atmospheric. It is survival. And because this is PlayStation, Brutal Edition also includes a full trophy roster with a Platinum Trophy for players who want to see the hunt through to the bitter end. Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. Wrath: Aeon of Ruin VR – Brutal Edition comes to PS VR2 on April 9, which means your time is almost up. In just a few days, you’ll be stepping into a world that does not slow down for you, where the air changes the moment a fight begins and every room can turn hostile in a heartbeat. The Old World is cruel, fast, and very good at draining the life from the unprepared. If that sounds like your kind of pressure, you won’t have to wait much longer.
