Title: CoD: Black Ops 7 And Warzone Patch Notes Detail Weapon And Attachment Changes Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 11:21:00 -0800 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/cod-black-ops-7-and-warzone-patch-notes-detail-weapon-and-attachment-changes/1100-6538192/?ftag=CAD-01-10abi2f A new update has arrived to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone on February 13, and the patch notes detail weapon balancing across both games. These weapon adjustments include changes to sniper rifles and light machine guns, as well as tuning of specific gun attachments.Season 2 went live in Call of Duty on February 5, but the patch notes didn't include the usual weapon balancing pass typically found in seasonal updates. Instead, Treyarch saved the gun changes for this new update, which focuses on various guns and attachments. For Black Ops 7's multiplayer and Zombies, the update includes a notable buff for the DS20 Mirage assault rifle. This increases the damage range for the gun, and it also makes improvements to the weapon's 17.1" Abdicator Barrel attachment, allowing for less recoil penalty when it's equipped.Continue Reading at GameSpot
Title: Blizzard President Looks To The Future And Admits "Not Everything's Going To Hit" Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 11:19:00 -0800 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/blizzard-president-looks-to-the-future-and-admits-not-everythings-going-to-hit/1100-6538190/?ftag=CAD-01-10abi2f This year marks the 35th anniversary of Blizzard, and the company already has reason to celebrate the recent Overwatch rebrand that's revitalized the hero shooter. Blizzard President Johanna Faries is very optimistic about the company's future, but she's also fully aware that not every swing at the plate will work out in its favor."We've set a lot in motion with respect to [the future of Blizzard], making sure we're clear on it, making sure we’re coordinated on it," said Faries during an appearance on the Official Xbox Podcast. "There's sort of a reliability that players can depend on us to launch in big ways, launch in surprising ways. Maybe take some zags! Not everything's going to hit. That's gaming. But in many ways, let's understand where we are going--not only as a company, but by franchise, by game."Faries may be referring to some Blizzard games that were in development but never saw the light of day. In 2019, Blizzard reportedly canceled a StarCraft shooter after two years in development in order to focus on Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2.Continue Reading at GameSpot
Title: Diablo 4: Lord Of Hatred Is Completely Removing Passive Skills Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 11:13:00 -0800 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/diablo-4-lord-of-hatred-is-completely-removing-passive-skills/1100-6538191/?ftag=CAD-01-10abi2f Diablo 4's Lord of Hatred expansion is revamping class skill trees, with its most dramatic change being the removal of passive skills entirely. As revealed during an official Sanctuary Sitdown on Discord with members of the Diablo 4 development team (via Icy Veins), Blizzard is looking to make it so class skill trees are more about offering customization than raw power spikes. As a result, passive skill nodes are being removed. Each active skill will be receiving new customizations options to help fill some of those power gaps, but overall Blizzard wants to make it so becoming more powerful is more about finding and crafting better gear, leveling up the Paragon Board, and equipping the right Legendary aspects as opposed to ticking flat damage bonus boxes on the skill tree. In total, there are 80 additional new skill options and 40 reworked ones that will be coming to all Diablo 4 players. Lord of Hatred owners will have 20 additional skill choices to choose from.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Title: The best new video games of February 2026 Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 21:03:52 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/best-video-games-february-2025/ If you haven’t noticed, it’s been a ridiculously busy February for new games. The month started off strong out the gate with Nioh 3 and Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, but things really spiraled out of control in the second week of the month. We got new Yakuza, Mario, God of War, Rayman, and High on Life games all within a five-day span — and that was barely scratching the surface. Breakout indies like Mewgenics and Relooted competed for players attention, while niche games like Tokyo Scramble and Crisol: Theater of Idols tried to nab a bit of attention in the cracks.
Title: Video game romances need to grow up Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 20:48:53 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/video-game-romances-need-to-grow-up/ If you had to pick a good love story, you might think of something classic, like Jane Austen's Emma or Casablanca. Or maybe tragic, like Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin or Romeo and Juliet. Or possibly cozy, like Heated Rivalry or Netflix's Nobody Wants This. What probably doesn't come to mind is a video game love story, and there's a good reason for that. Despite the appearance of variety, video game romances only come in one type. And it hardly even counts as a romance.

Title: Best Xbox Game Pass games to play this weekend (Feb. 13-15) Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 20:00:17 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/best-xbox-game-pass-games-valentines-day-2026/ With Valentine's Day being tomorrow, when's a better time to spotlight video game romance than now? Not every game has romantic pursuits, but plenty of our favorite RPGs allow you to wine, dine, and smooch your party members. (And then there's Baldur's Gate 3 and its super horny companions, including a bangable bear.) Other games let you watch their characters' romance evolve, for better or for worse.

Throughout February, members can look forward to new games, fresh ways to play across more devices and even more ways to bring RTX power to every screen in the house. There’s plenty to celebrate: the February games list kicks off with 24 new games. Start with the 10 new games in the cloud this week, including the launch of Team Jade’s Delta Force and the newest title launching in the PUBG universe, PUBG: BLINDSPOT. The game features high-stakes extraction with an all-out warfare mode, giving players a playground of open environments, vehicles and gadgets to pull off coordinated assaults. Players join elite units tasked with tackling high‑risk missions across sprawling maps, from tight urban incursions to rugged open‑terrain operations. Expect strategic objectives, combined‑arms combat with land, air and sea vehicles, and tense firefights where teamwork and planning are just as important as quick reflexes. On GeForce NOW, Delta Force leans into its high‑octane personality: fast drops, big maps and cinematic engagements that look sharp and feel responsive across devices. Members can squad up from almost anywhere, enjoy high‑resolution streaming and smooth performance, and stay ready for every op without waiting on downloads or big updates before jumping into the next mission. New Mission Squad up. PUBG: BLINDSPOT, a new spin-off set in the PUBG universe from Krafton, expands the franchise with a standalone 5v5 top-down tactical shooter. Every callout and ability use matters, turning each round into a layered tactical puzzle rather than a simple test of reflexes. On GeForce NOW, responsive streaming and sharp RTX-powered visuals keep every angle, rotation and clutch play feeling precise, even on lower-powered devices. With support across a wide range of screens, the cloud makes it easy for the gaming squad to jump right into the action, without lengthy downloads or updates getting in the way. Title: God of War Sons of Sparta: What you need to know Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 20:51:53 +0000 Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/02/13/god-of-war-sons-of-sparta-what-you-need-to-know/ God of War Sons of Sparta is a brand-new entry to the series available now for the PlayStation 5!  Developed by our partners at Mega Cat Studios, Sons of Sparta takes God of War staples and translates them like never before into a retro-inspired 2D action platformer. Looking to learn more before embarking on a journey back to ancient Greece this weekend? Here’s what you need to know about God of War Sons of Sparta!  Duty, honor & brotherhood Sons of Sparta is a canon story that takes place in Kratos’ youth from the writing team that brought you God of War (2018), God of War Ragnarök, and God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla.  Set during the brutal training period Spartan cadets undergo at the Agoge – Kratos, alongside his brother Deimos, must traverse far beyond the home they know into the beautiful yet dangerous region of Laconia that surrounds the familiar walls of Sparta.  Kratos and Deimos must overcome threats that will put all their training to the test while challenging them to confront the true meaning of duty, honor, and brotherhood.   Play Video Heartfelt performances  Sons of Sparta features a fantastic vocal cast whose performances bring the depth and emotion fans expect from God of War games.  We’re thrilled to have two actors who have both portrayed Kratos in the Greek saga reprise their roles for this game. TC Carson returns as the adult version of Kratos who serves as our story’s narrator, while Antony Del Rio portrays the younger version of Kratos, which he also did in God of War: Ghost of Sparta back in 2010!  We’re also excited to have newcomers join the series, including Scott Menville, as the voice of our young Deimos.  God of War combat in 2D  Sons of Sparta brings God of War’s kinetic combat to a brand-new genre. Customize your weapons, learn new skills, and harness powerful divine artifacts using the Gifts of Olympus to end your foes with brutal finishers.  Play Video A Spartan’s first weapons Kratos’ spear and shield can each be enhanced and adapted using different attachments. Each attachment comes with its own upgrade path, so you can tailor your build to empower whichever playstyle you enjoy.   Kratos also has access to three primary skill trees where he can learn new abilities to improve his offensive, defensive, and movement kits.  Gifts of Olympus  Throughout his adventures in Laconia, Kratos will acquire Gifts of Olympus, divine artifacts that can turn the tide in combat through their special and super attacks. Some of the Gifts excel in ranged combat – striking with precision from afar or launching an exploding projectile to hit multiple creatures. Others come with their own devastating melee combo to supplement Kratos’ spear attacks.  Myths and legends Sons of Sparta features the return of many iconic creatures from the Greek saga, including hulking minotaurs, nimble satyrs, and undead legionnaires. We worked closely with the team at Mega Cat Studios to faithfully translate the original animations to their 2D representations in-game.  On top of the classics, MCS has also brought in many new creatures from Greek mythology didn’t have the chance to explore in the originals. Explore Laconia  Stunning high-definition pixel art environments will take you on a journey through a variety of locations that bring Kratos’ homeland to life with incredible detail.  As you progress through the main story, you’ll find that Laconia is also full of content that rewards exploration – optional quests, hidden encounters, and loot await! The sound of Sparta  Bear McCreary returns to score Sons of Sparta with an incredible soundtrack that melds retro aesthetics with God of War’s signature sweeping orchestral and choral style. Get it today The Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions are both available for purchase digitally at PlayStation Store: Standard Edition of God of War Sons of Sparta is $29.99 USD / €29.99 / £24.99 / ¥3480 Digital Deluxe Edition of God of War Sons of Sparta is $39.99 USD / €39.99 / £32.99 / ¥4480 Thank you to all the God of War fans for your continued support, we hope you’ll enjoy Sons of Sparta!

Title: Nioh 3's first big patch "partially" fixes an issue which can make it impossible to heal mid-fight Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 16:56:49 +0000 Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/nioh-3s-first-big-patch-partially-fixes-an-issue-which-can-make-it-impossible-to-heal-mid-fight Brutal boss battler Nioh 3's first major post-release patch has arrived today, February 13th. Among its array of tweaks is a "partial" fix for a pretty serious issue - it sometimes being impossible for your character to down any healing elixirs in battle. Read more
Title: Steam reviews letting you attach your PC specs is another Steam Machine prep play and you can't convince me otherwise Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 16:23:43 +0000 Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/steam-reviews-letting-you-attach-your-pc-specs-is-another-steam-machine-prep-play-and-you-cant-convince-me-otherwise I wasn’t immediately sure who the latest Steam client beta update, which allows Steam review writers to optionally attach their hardware specs and anonymised framerate data, was for. The reviewers? Not unless they want to inadvertently reveal that the reason they aren’t getting 360fps in Space Marine 2 is because they’re trying to run it on a 3DFX Voodoo Banshee. Developers? Performance data could be useful but if I ran a QA department, I’d want that coming from observable tests, not from the bottom of a slur-filled missive from ViperSniper69 (0.2hrs on record). Then I read the words "This feature is currently in Beta with a focus on devices running SteamOS," and realised: this is for Valve themselves. A devious ploy to record how thousands of hitherto unbenchmarked games run on the Steam Deck and, eventually, the new Steam Machine. Read more
Title: Despite being "a significant change", Legacy of Kain: Ascendance's devs insist it'll still appeal to clapped-out Soul Reaver enthusiasts Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 15:22:30 +0000 Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/despite-being-a-significant-change-legacy-of-kain-ascendances-devs-insist-itll-still-appeal-to-clapped-out-soul-reaver-enthusiasts Edwin, come look at this! Seriously, come look at this! It's that thing from your site bio. They're doing a new one. Edw-0h wait, he's on holiday today. Ah well, I guess I'll have to aim my distictly non-Soul Reaver enthusiast eyes at Legacy of Kain: Ascendance. Ooh, Edwin, this nice marketing person claims it'll appeal to veteran Kainers like you, despite being a bit of a new direction for the series. Read more
Title: No AI tricks here - G-Sync Pulsar’s clarity boosting monitor tech looks like the real deal Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 14:59:27 +0000 Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/no-ai-tricks-here-g-sync-pulsars-clarity-boosting-monitor-tech-looks-like-the-real-deal Nvidia’s relationship with PC gaming doesn’t always feel like a loving one. Sometimes they’re gifting us a useful new version of DLSS, sometimes they’re helping drive RAM prices up to £300 a stick. Even so, it’s hard not to look at G-Sync Pulsar – a new bit of monitor cleverness that seeks to remove unwanted motion blur from its LCD panels – and see some goodness still inside that big, green eye. After trying it out at a demo event this week, I’m hopeful that Pulsar can clean up how games look in motion as well as anything since the original G-Sync. Read more
Title: "The hardest game in the world to make" - How Darkhaven hopes to rebottle Diablo 2's lightning by channelling Minecraft Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2026 13:45:00 +0000 Link: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/the-hardest-game-in-the-world-to-make-how-darkhaven-hopes-to-rebottle-diablo-2s-lightning-by-channelling-minecraft There’s an unpredictable “Necropolis” event in Darkhaven that will slowly turn the entire world undead. It generates a Lich sarcophagus that spills a sickly wave of gloom, rolling across the procedural map to clog player waypoints and fill the alcoves with bony minions. Let the gloom thicken for long enough, and in theory, there will be nowhere safe for your character to spawn. A true apocalypse. You can transfer your character to a freshly generated world, but you might encounter something even harder to dispel: a volcanic eruption, rising floodwaters that breed Lovecraftian fish creatures, a sweeping ice age. Worse, you might encounter several apocalypses at once. Read more
