Title: How To Build Nekomancer Wonder Weapon In BO7 Zombies Date: Tue, 30 Jun 2026 11:02:35 +0000 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/how-to-build-nekomancer-wonder-weapon-in-bo7-zombies/ Call of Duty Season 4 Reloaded is live in Black Ops 7, bringing the brand-new Kowakujo map to Zombies. This map is set at Takeo's family castle, and the Japanese setting includes a Wonder Weapon themed around the Legend of the Nekomata, which is a two-tailed cat spirit. Yes, your Wonder Weapon for Kowakujo is an actual cat. In this guide, we'll show you how to complete all the steps to gain access to this unique Nekomancer Wonder Weapon in Kowakujo. Kowakujo map Nekomancer Wonder Weapon The Nekomancer Wonder Weapon can be acquired by completing a hidden in-game quest, which we walk you through in the steps below. It's possible this weapon can also be obtained through the Mystery Box if you're lucky enough. The Wonderbar Gobblegum will guarantee you get a Wonder Weapon on your next spin, but other Wonder Weapons are also in the box, reducing your chances of getting the map's Nekomancer Cat Wonder Weapon here. Turn on the power To start the Wonder Weapon quest, you'll want to work your way through the Kowakujo map to turn on the power and unlock Pack-a-Punch. Black Ops 7 includes quest markers to guide you through the steps needed to do this. So, just follow the orange markers on your map. Once Pack-a-Punch is unlocked, your orange quest markers disappear, but this means you can now work through the rest of the hidden steps detailed below. Collect the quest parts You'll need to collect three crafting parts: The Furin, Karakuri, and the Maneki-neko. These parts can be collected in any order, and they each have three possible spawn points. If you have teammates, you can split up the work, and you can also have someone skip down to the next step required for getting the cat in the cage. Furin Staging Area Furin Bell location The Furin is a bell-shaped part that can be found hanging in the following locations: Staging Area: Stand in the Staging Area with your back to the Stamin-Up perk machine. It could be hanging down from the doorway of the building you're facing. Training Area: Head to the Warden 308 Wall Buy in the Training Area. The bell could be hanging up in the top right corner above this weapon Wall Buy. Stables: In the Stables, look with your back facing the Arsenal machine. There's a building across from it that's partially collapsed. The bell can spawn on the right side of the doorway. Karakuri Workshop Karakuri doll location The Karakuri part is a small Japanese doll that can be found sitting in the following locations: Storage Rooms: Inside Storage Rooms, the doll can spawn on a table across from the room's Wall Buy. Storage Rooms: Also Storage Rooms, the doll can be sitting on the floor in a pile of ashes across from the PhD Flopper perk machine. Workshop: The doll can spawn in Workshop, and it will be sitting by a basket near the windows at the bottom of the staircase leading up to the upper level. Maneki-Neko Kitchens Maneki-Neko location The Maneki-Neko is the Japanese lucky cat statue. It can be found sitting in the following locations: Gatehouse: Head to the Speed Cola perk machine in Gatehouse. Look in the small room to the right of the perk machine, and the cat can spawn on a wooden box sitting against a wall. Kitchens: The cat can spawn on a wooden barrel opposite the Double Tap perk machine in Kitchens. Kitchens: Also in Kitchens, the cat can spawn in the corner to the left of the Mystery Box spawn. Craft the Maneki-Neko tactical equipment Crafting bench location in Workshop Using the three parts you just collected, you'll want to head to a crafting bench in Workshop. This is not one of the regular crafting benches where you can make loadout equipment. Instead, you're looking for a similar bench right beside the Vulture Aid perk machine, as shown in the image above. Interact with the bench to automatically start crafting a tactical grenade shaped like a Maneki-Neko cat. This works just like a Monkey Bomb, but don't use it right away. Save this for a later step. If you accidentally use it, you'll need to head back to the crafting bench where you originally built it to craft another. It will cost 500 salvage to re-craft each time. Collect the Cat in the Cage You can technically do this step early, so you don't need to have the Maneki-Neko tactical equipment crafted yet.  Cat cage location For this step, you will need the PhD Flopper perk. Head to the tree in Tenshu Entrance, and face away from the Mule Kick perk machine. Look up to find a cat in a cage hanging from the building's rooftop. Either dolphin dive or wall jump under the cage, and the blast from PhD Flopper perk will knock the cage down. You need to collect this item now. The next step sounds awful, but you need to toss the caged cat in lava. This can be any of the lava pools on the map. Don't worry about the cat, though. This is a powerful supernatural cat, and it will just swim through the lava for now. Reveal paw prints Paw prints located in the doorway from Staging Area to Stables This next step can be annoying, especially if you're playing solo, as you need to kill zombies in four different locations to find an area where glowing red paw prints will spawn. This is going to be random each match, so you'll always need to kill zombies by these four locations until you get cat paw prints to spawn. Kill zombies in the following doorways: Doorway going from Central Courtyard to Kitchens Doorway from Kitchens to Flower Gardens Doorway from the Staging Area to Stables Doorway at Training Area (the one south of the Warden 308 Wall Buy) The glowing cat paw prints are fairly noticeable, as shown in the image above. You need to follow the direction the paw prints are facing, and keep killing zombies to get more paw prints, which will eventually lead you to a location with glowing paw prints in a circle. The part can be tough solo, and you can't use decoy grenades to keep zombies from overwhelming you, because you need the Maneki-Neko tactical equipment you're already holding. If you have teammates, it is helpful to have them keep some zombies away for the time being. Tossing the Maneki-Neko at the circle of paw prints Once you're led to the circle of paw prints, toss the Maneki-Neko tactical equipment onto the circle. This will turn the Maneki-Neko equipment into a live cat. Unfortunately, an Abomination enemy (that giant Zombies monster with the three mouths) will spawn and eat the cat. You'll need to kill the Abomination to continue. Target the creature's mouths when they glow purple. Find the cat Highlighted floorboards and a sleeping cat Unfortunately, killing the Abomination doesn't return the cat back to you. The cat has gone into hiding, and you'll need the Death Perception perk to track it down. You also need to be sneaky for this quest step. There are audio cues for a snoring/purring cat when you get close to the correct area, and you'll see the white cat curled up in a ball. Death Perception highlights squeaky floorboards to avoid. Sneak by crouch walking and avoiding the highlighted boards. Avoid shooting your gun as well. You'll eventually sneak close enough to interact with and pick up the sleeping cat. It's really hard to see in the image above, as the rooms are very dark, but the boards are highlighted and the cat is in the corner. Check the following three areas: Kitchens: Found to the right of Double Tap Kitchens: In right corner near of the Mystery Box spawn location Training Area: In the interior portion of Training Area If you or a teammate step on one of these boards, you'll scare the cat off. This means you'll need to progress to the next round before you can try again. Carrying the cat to Pack-a-Punch Also, don't drop the cat. It gives you the prompt showing you that you can drop the cat. I did this to fight off zombies, thinking I could just pick the cat back up after, but the cat ran away. Not sure if this step is bugged, but I never got the cat to come back even by advancing the rounds and trying to catch it again. It just didn't respawn in any of the three areas. This means you can't swap to a gun or melee weapon, and you're defenseless against the horde. You'll want to head straight to the Pack-a-Punch machine. Take the cat to the World Seed With the cat in hand, you now need to take it to the World Seed. This is the large seed on the pedestal by the Pack-a-Punch machine. Interact with the pedestal to deposit the cat. This causes the seed to start sending pulse waves around the area. These pulses can damage you, so you'll want to stay back until the fifth pulse.  Pulses from the World Seed Basically, you can approach the seed and damage it after every five pulses. Just run circles around the room, count the pulses, and melee the seed. Damage it after every five pulses until it drops the cat as the newly formed Nekomancer Wonder Weapon. Pick up the cat after the World Seed explodes Pick up the cat, and you're now using a supernatural animal as a weapon against the undead. How to use the Nekomancer Wonder Weapon The cat glows when Pack-a-Punched The Nekomancer Wonder Weapon has three different actions. Spirit Bait (R2) Spirit Bait is the main firing type, which shoots spirit pulses at enemies to damage them Hairball (L2) hold L2 down to build up a charged hairball shot for a more powerful, singular blast Nekopunch (Circle on PlayStation or B on Xbox) The Nekopunch melee attack is the cat scratching at the zombies You can also Pack-a-Punch the cat just like any other weapon. Then, you get an even more powerful feline and additional ammo.
Title: GTA 6 Early Access Is Not Real, But The Scam Sites Are Date: Tue, 30 Jun 2026 10:55:52 +0000 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-early-access-is-not-real-but-the-scam-sites-are/ With GTA 6 only a few months away and shaping up to be the biggest entertainment launch of the year, scam websites aren't wasting any time attempting to fleece people of their cash. Building on the game's hype and the eagerness of some people to play it early, some sites are offering "VIP" access to GTA 6 ahead of launch, all for the low price of several hundred dollars. The only part of GTA 6 that will be available early is the option to preload it, which might account for some of the confusion around its launch time. This is a scam, as Rockstar Games has no early access promotion for GTA 6 in place. Unlike games such as Control Resonant or Gears of War: E-Day, neither of GTA 6's editions offers such an option to play early, and any site offering such a deal is looking to pull a fast one. The biggest red flag with these sites, which dress themselves up in the same neon-soaked aesthetic of GTA 6? The fact that they want you to pay in cryptocurrency, not exactly the safest form of payment to use, given how there are very few guardrails to protect you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XJ6d5k5k8c&t=3s According to Malwarebytes, these sites will usually offer people something along the lines of "VIP Digital Access" or an "Exclusive Early Access Preview," utilizing fancy AI-generated assets designed to make them look as legitimate as possible or pretending to be part of a Mr. Beast partnership. One scam site even uses Lego to lure people in, promising them a Lego Lamborghini set, Mr. Beast minifigure, and an in-game Lego-inspired Lambo to use in GTA Online, all for the cool price of $275 in Bitcoin, USDT, or Ethereum. And if you pay, you get nothing but buyer's remorse, as the scammers make off with your cash. That site offering the audacious Lego and Mr. Beast bundle deal has gone offline, but there's a good chance that it has managed to scam a few people before the plug was pulled. So what's happening here? There's no denying that GTA 6 has an absurd amount of hype behind it, and it comes at a time when early access to video games has become more commonplace. As mentioned above, several upcoming games will offer consumers the chance to jump in several days early, so it wouldn't be uncommon to imagine that GTA 6 would have a similar deal in place. At the same time, these sites are also leveraging FOMO, using suggestive wording to emphasize scarcity and override your decision-making process by making you believe that this is a limited-time deal--similar to your Temu app whenever you open it up, and your eyes are flooded by spinner wheels offering short-term discounts. Throw in a generally professional website, and you can understand how people are deceived. For now, it's worth paying attention to the warning signs. Unless Rockstar says otherwise, there is no GTA 6 early access, there are no secret downloads of the game available, and don't expect to be able to grab a copy of the game in the wild, as physical editions will be nothing but a code in a box. If a website offers early access and wants you to pay--preferably in crypto--close the tab and your wallet. GTA 6 launches for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, and official preorders are now live for it. Title: The Biggest New Game Releases Of July 2026 Date: Tue, 30 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-biggest-new-game-releases-of-july-2026/ We’re officially in the second half of 2026, and what a year it has been so far. With dozens of great games having already been released, July is kicking things off with a selection of interesting indies, a Lovecraftian co-op game where you will get stabbed in the back, and more Doom–the good kind from Id Software, not the pervasive feeling you get whenever you turn on the news. As usual, we’ve rounded up all of the games we have our eyes on in July, as well as the correct release dates for them at the time of writing this post. As always, you can check out our list of all the upcoming games in 2026 for a broader look at all the release dates for upcoming titles. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkH3HKe6FRM Release date: July 23 Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game looks like it has several things going for it. It's based on a popular IP--imagine if you could control the elements with martial arts--it features several popular characters in its roster, and it looks gorgeous in action thanks to the hand-drawn animation that pays tribute to the source material. It's also not a tag-fighter game, instead opting for a purer 1v1 format. Early previews have looked promising for this clash between legendary characters, and the game also looks like a celebration of the franchise as it prepares to enter a new era. See on Steam Rhythm Heaven Groove https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdMwqKiSeEE Release date: July 2 Platforms: Switch Over a decade has passed since the last Rhythm Heaven game was released, but all of a sudden, a new one is out this month. If you've never played one before, Rhythm Heaven games are typically a collection of minigames with a musical bend, and they're delightfully odd. Rhythm Heaven Groove looks like it'll continue that tradition, mixing groovy beats with enjoyable minigames and oddball visuals. A demo is out now if you want to try it first. See on Amazon Doom: The Dark Ages - Revelations https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nL_JF1ZNllI&pp=ygUhRG9vbTogdGhlIERhcmsgQWdlcyAtIFJldmVsYXRpb25z Release date: July 7 Platforms:  PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S The Doom Slayer is back this month, and this time, Hell has literally frozen over. The new expansion continues to tell the secret story of the Doom Slayer prior to his resurrection in 2016's Doom, chronicling a betrayal that left him wounded and confined to a purgatory that forces him to confront harsh truths. Revelations adds new levels with deeper puzzles, new demons to maim, and the deadly new Chain Spear weapon. See on Steam Moonlight Peaks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VL_15TiRRAM&pp=ygUPTW9vbmxpZ2h0IFBlYWtz Release date: July 7 Platforms: PC, Switch 2, Switch Cozy slice-of-life sims aren't in short supply, but Moonlight Peaks puts a nice twist on the genre by sprinkling in a few supernatural twists. At its core, you're still farming, making friends, and exploring a small town, but with its focus on potion-crafting and eye-catching Goth aesthetics, it looks like an arcane version of Stardew Valley. See on Steam Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHoZjka6h2U&pp=ygUtQXNzYXNzaW4ncyBDcmVlZCBCbGFjayBGbGFnIFJlc3luY2VkIGdhbWVzcG90 Release date: July 9 Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has been one of the most beloved games in the franchise for many years, but there's no denying that it does feel dated in comparison to modern-day entries in the series. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced looks set to update it for current audiences, and so far, the results look very promising. While overhauled graphics and modernized gameplay should make this fan-favorite game look and feel better to play, it's the numerous small changes under the hood that could make it worth revisiting this swashbuckling classic. See on Amazon Backyard Baseball https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHXEDXNupBY&pp=ygURQmFja3lhcmQgQmFzZWJhbGw%3D Release date: July 9 Platforms: PC Following its acquisition of the Backyard Sports franchise in 2024, Playground Productions has wasted no time in reviving that IP. PC re-releases of the classic Humongous Entertainment games have been well-received so far, and this month, you can step up to the plate for Backyard Baseball. This new game will feature four gameplay modes, 11 remastered stadiums, 24 teams, and 30 characters to choose from--and Pablo Sanchez in 3D. See on Steam EA Sports College Football 27 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-JpwwMa5aM&pp=ygUdRUEgU3BvcnRzIENvbGxlZ2UgRm9vdGJhbGwgMjc%3D Release date: July 9 Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S Speaking of sports, you can move from backyards to stadiums with EA Sports College Football 27 in July. While we're not expecting seismic shifts for the gameplay--this is an annual series, after all--some of the cool new features include customizable stadiums and audio, dynamic weather, and even a new Coach Mode that'll allow you to lead your team from the sidelines. See on Amazon Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWPXcbiFVdQ&pp=ygUrR3JhbmJsdWUgRmFudGFzeTogUmVsaW5rIC0gRW5kbGVzcyBSYWduYXJvaw%3D%3D Release date: July 9 Platforms: PC, PS5, PS4, Switch 2 Granblue Fantasy: Relink has everything you'd want from a fantasy action-RPG. It's full of rich worldbuilding, the tag-team combat mechanics add some extra visual flair to battles, and it doesn't outstay its welcome during its base campaign. It also feels like a complete experience thanks to moving away from the gacha systems of the older games in the series, and this new edition drops even more content into the mix. Expect to extend your stay in Estalucia, as Endless Ragnaork introduces a new story arc, more characters to add to your team, and new endgame activities to test your skills. See on Amazon Echoes of Aincrad: Sword Art Online https://youtu.be/5AN5ZGSUkcE?si=aUosSesYViXh4rit Release date: July 10 Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S While an anime-inspired souls-like isn't exactly novel, Echoes of Aincrad looks like a fun entry in a genre that's focused on being tough-as-adamantium-nails. Based on the first story arc of the original Sword Art Online light novel series, the game features familiar characters from the IP like Kirito and Asuna, fully customizable character builds, and no shortage of opponents looking to end your adventure early. See on Amazon Ascend to Zero https://youtu.be/_QtVaShYrX4?si=_AVPPEsFuqrwptm7 Release date: July 13 Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S Are you up for a Hades-inspired round of roguelike action? That's exactly what you'll get with Ascend to Zero, but this game has an extra trick up its sleeve in the form of time-bending powers. With the clock ticking, you'll have to quickly learn to master your powers, using every spare second as a weapon while aiming to improve with each run. See on Steam The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu https://youtu.be/5d1e90FvlsE?si=xgq-7ZTeTB9h8w73 Release date: July 15 Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S Another day, another HP Lovecraft-inspired game makes its presence known. The twist this time is that The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is all about sharing the dread of being the plaything of an Eldritch god, as players will have to venture into a cursed jungle and contend with Lovecraftian horrors, perception-altering gameplay mechanics, and paranoid teammates. See on Steam Digimon Story: Time Stranger https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbYa4l02nVQ&pp=ygUsRGlnaW1vbiBTdG9yeSBUaW1lIFN0cmFuZ2VyIHN3aXRjaCAyIHRyYWlsZXI%3D Release date: July 10 Platforms: Switch 2 Digimon has always gotten the short end of the creature-collecting stick, but recent games like Digimon Story: Time Stranger have proven that it's not trapped in Pokemon's shadow. Landing on Switch 2 this month, Digimon Story: Time Stranger sees players once again journey across the human world and Digital World to collect Digimon and fight in turn-based battles, but with a deeper emphasis on the bond between humans and their Digimon, it confidently sets itself apart from the competition. See on Amazon Palworld https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeYtRvkubis&pp=ygUUUGFsd29ybGQgMS4wIHRyYWlsZXI%3D Release date: July 10 Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S Sticking with the creature-collecting theme, Palworld is readying up for its 1.0 release this month. After two years of early access development--and feeling the brunt of Nintendo's legal teams--Palworld feels more fully formed than ever before. This isn't the end of the game's journey either, as developer Pocketpair has some big post-launch plans in mind. See on Steam Denshattack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL6dF_JU8Rs&pp=ygUTRGVuc2hhdHRhY2sgdHJhaWxlcg%3D%3D Release date: July 15 Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S Switch 2 Originally scheduled to launch last month, stylish train-hopping game Denshattack was hit with a month-long delay at the eleventh hour. Will that extra wait be worth it? We certainly hope so, as it has been at the top of our wishlists since we first saw it in action, thanks to it looking and playing like a runaway train with Tony Hawk Pro Skater and anime DNA. Title: State Of Decay Studio Undead Labs Reportedly At Risk Of Closure Date: Mon, 29 Jun 2026 23:58:41 +0000 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/state-of-decay-studio-undead-labs-reportedly-at-risk-of-closure/ Amid reports that Microsoft is planning massive layoffs in its Xbox gaming division, first-party studios like Double Fine, Compulsion Games, and Ninja Theory have been rumored to be in talks to avoid total closure. Now, State of Decay developer Undead Labs is said to be facing the same fate if a potential buyer can't be found. According to GamesBeat and Windows Central, Undead Labs is one if the studios that Microsoft may unload following the end of its current fiscal year on June 30. What makes this move so surprising is that Undead Labs' State of Decay 3 has been given a promotional push by Xbox, including a new trailer that debuted earlier this month. That title is believed to be nearly finished, and it's unclear if State of Decay 3 will even be released if Undead Labs closes beforehand. Bloomberg's Jason Schreier offered some clarification about the studios reported to be on Microsoft's chopping block. Schreier didn't confirm Undead Labs to be among them, but he stated that it's "possible (even likely) ... that some of the studios that are lined up for closure will be spun out and taken independent again by their management, potentially saving some jobs." However, it appears that some layoffs will be inevitable. State of Decay 3 is currently expected to hit Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2027. In the meantime, developers from numerous first-party Xbox studios have called for Microsoft to provide them with layoff protections before any potential cuts this summer. Even the future of Xbox itself may be on the line, as rumors suggest that the division may be spun out of Microsoft as a separate company. Microsoft recently raised the price of Xbox consoles again and more price hikes may be coming in 2027. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has indicated that Xbox has to begin pulling its weight financially. That may mean more drastic steps are ahead to achieve that goal.
Title: Persona Netflix Adaptation Reportedly In The Works Date: Mon, 29 Jun 2026 22:30:40 +0000 Link: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/persona-netflix-adaptation-reportedly-in-the-works/ Atlus's globally beloved Persona series is no stranger to mixed media: numerous games in the series have been adapted into anime, manga, novels and more. But, if a recent report is correct, the Persona franchise may find itself expanding to many more screens across the globe. Variety reports that, according to various sources, Netflix has inked a deal to adapt Persona into some form to be broadcast on its streaming platform. Christopher Monfette will serve as writer, producer, and showrunner, while Shawn Levy and Robert Atwood will be executive producers through their company 21 Laps Inc. Story Kitchen, a production company famous for helping to adapt video game IPs to other media forms, will also be involved--as will its executives Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson. Toru Nakahara from Sega will also serve in a production role. As the deal has not been publicly announced, details are sparse--including which (if any) specific games would be adapted. The reported involvement of Story Kitchen is also interesting, as it helped bring the wildly successful Sonic the Hedgehog film adaptations to theaters, and is also currently helping to produce other Sega adaptations like Streets of Rage and Shinobi. Persona's already had a big 2026 so far with the announcement of Persona 6 and 30th-anniversary festivities, so a big announcement like a Netflix partnership to cap it all all of is very plausible. Here's hoping that something will result that satisfies series fans and newcomers alike.

Title: Wardogs cheaters will be easy to deal with, claims CEO Date: Tue, 30 Jun 2026 12:00:21 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/wardogs-interview-cheaters-exploiters-wont-succeed/ FPS games on PC have had cheaters and players using unfair hacks for as long as they've been around. Various anticheat solutions have come and gone, to varying degrees of success. One of the latest, that almost every modern FPS game is implementing, are hardware-level protections, such as enabling secure boot and TPM 2.0. Wardogswill follow suit with that requirement, Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer told Polygon. He wouldn't go into much more detail about the studio's specific anticheat plans, but when it comes to exploits, he thinks the game itself will protect players from unfair behavior:
Title: Human Vapor review: Netflix's new sci-fi thriller avoids a pitfall even Steven Spielberg fell for Date: Tue, 30 Jun 2026 11:01:18 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/human-vapor-netflix-review/ With Hollywood running out of interesting ideas, nostalgic remakes are a dime a dozen. Disney is the biggest culprit, reproducing animated favorites in live-action form almost beat-for-beat with little to no emotional resonance that made those films special in the first place. But even the best directors fall prey to the legacy reboot trap, like Gus Van Sant’s Psycho (1998), Steven Spielberg’sWest Side Story (2021), Spike Lee’sHighest 2 Lowest(2025), and Edgar Wright’sRunning Man (2025).
Title: Call of Duty reminds players that Modern Warfare 4 won't be coming to Game Pass this year Date: Tue, 30 Jun 2026 10:48:31 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/modern-warfare-4-not-on-xbox-game-pass-ads/ In 2024, Xbox addedCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to its Game Pass subscription service, granting everyone who uses it access to the latest entry in the series. This didn't arrive until July, however, which meant the game had been out for around nine months already by that point. A few months later, Black Ops 6 joined Game Pass at launch, and the following year, Black Ops 7 did the same. Microsoft pledged that this would be the protocol going forward: all new Call of Duty games would be on Game Pass at launch.
Title: Netflix is adapting Atlus Persona for new live-action TV series Date: Mon, 29 Jun 2026 22:34:57 GMT Link: https://www.polygon.com/persona-tv-series-netflix-atlus-sega/ Netflix is developing a live-action TV series based on Atlus' Persona role-playing game franchise, according to a new report. The series is being developed by production company Story Kitchen, which produces the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise for Sega, and 21 Laps, the production company founded by Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine, Free Guy), who produced Stranger Things.

Title: NVIDIA, KRAFTON, NC and Reigning ‘League of Legends’ Champions T1 Celebrate RTX Spark at Korea’s PC Bangs Date: Sun, 07 Jun 2026 07:00:15 +0000 Link: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/krafton-nc-t1-korea-gaming-pc-bang-rtx-spark/ At GTC Taipei at COMPUTEX last week, NVIDIA unveiled RTX Spark, the superchip that reinvents Windows PCs for the era of personal AI agents. On the heels of this announcement, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang headed to South Korea, where he introduced RTX Spark to the nation’s passionate gaming community. Leading game developers — including Korea’s KRAFTON and NC — are already working to bring their titles to RTX Spark-powered systems.  Designed for local AI, creating and gaming, RTX Spark brings together 30 years of NVIDIA innovation to slim Windows laptops with all-day battery life and small, ultraefficient desktop PCs.  With the superchip, gamers can play AAA games at 1440p resolution and over 100 frames per second with NVIDIA ray tracing, DLSS and Reflex technologies. In addition, RTX Spark supports all NVIDIA RTX technologies, including the recently announced DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, which features a second-generation transformer model for realistic image quality.  RTX Spark Ignites Korea’s Gaming Community Korea has played a major role in spearheading esports and driving the boom in PC bangs, or internet and gaming cafes. With longstanding collaborations rooted in the country, NVIDIA in October celebrated 25 years of GeForce in Korea with a free festival for gamers, highlighting the rich gaming ecosystem that has been built over decades.    On Friday, Huang headed to T1 Base Camp — a PC bang owned by T1, one of Korea’s top esports teams. There, he met with T1’s reigning League of Legends World Champion team, including six-time World Champion Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok to unveil RTX Spark.  NVIDIA and Riot Games — developer of League of Legends — are collaborating to bring the title as well as VALORANT to RTX Spark, expanding gamers’ access to high-performance gaming on slim laptops.  To mark the occasion, T1 Base Camp attendees had the chance to win RTX Spark laptops, League of Legends and T1 merch signed by Huang and Faker, as well as GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs.  Surprising PC-Bang Gamers  Later, Huang headed to Seoul’s Gangnam district, where he surprised PC-bang gamers with a first look at RTX Spark with KRAFTON and NC.  At the first stop, Optimum Zone PC, Huang and KRAFTON Chairman Byung-gyu Chang showcased PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and Subnautica 2 on RTX Spark to a captivated crowd of gamers.  Gamers then got the surprise chance to play with the unreleased PUBG Ally, a co-playable character built with NVIDIA ACE technologies on RTX Spark laptops. PUBG Ally resulted from AI research and development at KRAFTON and NVIDIA, part of an initiative to create next-generation game characters that act like teammates and enable more meaningful, immersive engagements with players. Next, Huang stopped at another PC bang, Portal PC, where he showcased NC’s CINDER CITY and AION 2 on RTX Spark, with support from Taekjin Kim, co-CEO of NC.  NC and NVIDIA began working together in the early 2000s on the Lineage franchise and have since collaborated to integrate RTX technology into many of NC’s flagship games, including Lineage 2, AION, Blade & Soul, AION 2 and CINDER CITY.  Gamers at Portal PC were given the chance to play a demo of NC’s highly anticipated open-world massively multiplayer online tactical shooter CINDER CITY on GeForce RTX-powered PCs.   CINDER CITY will support the DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution features at launch. Plus, gamers will be able to experience the title on slim RTX Spark laptops and compact desktops when the game is released later this year.  In addition to KRAFTON, NC, and Riot Games, 100+ Windows software providers and game developers are embracing RTX Spark. These partners include NetEase, Remedy Entertainment and XBOX.  Learn more about RTX Spark and its launch partners.

Title: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: PS5 Pro enhancements detailed Date: Mon, 29 Jun 2026 15:00:27 +0000 Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/06/29/assassins-creed-black-flag-resynced-ps5-pro-enhancements-detailed/ Released first on the PlayStation 3 and as a launch title for the PlayStation 4, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has remained a defining entry in the series for more than a decade. When we first explored the idea of bringing Edward Kenway’s journey to modern hardware, it quickly became clear that a traditional remaster wouldn’t be enough to do it justice. Play Video Instead, we rebuilt the game from the ground up on the latest version of the Anvil engine, modernizing nearly every system while preserving the spirit and identity of the original game. The result is an experience tailored for modern PlayStation hardware, with 60 FPS options, HDR support, Dolby Atmos, DualSense haptic feedback, and plenty of other improvements. You can find the list of graphics modes available at launch for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro below. With all these new features and graphics options, we’ve been able to take full advantage of the PlayStation 5 hardware and deliver the best experience possible for players when the game launches on July 9. In this article, we’d like to take a closer look at some of the technologies that bring this new version of the Caribbean to life. A more reactive Caribbean with ray tracing In Resynced, our goal was to make the world feel more alive, more dynamic, and more responsive to the player’s journey. A major part of that comes from our updated lighting system, now fully dynamic and powered by hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Instead of relying on precomputed lighting, the world reacts in real time to changes in time of day, weather, and environment. Interiors respond more accurately to outdoor light sources, and weather conditions dramatically reshape the mood of the world. Ray-traced diffuse lighting allows light to bounce across surfaces, creating natural color bleeding and more consistent shading throughout environments. Meanwhile, Ray-Traced Specular Reflections enhance surfaces like wet wood, metal, and ocean spray, helping the Caribbean feel more physically grounded and reactive. To ensure a consistent experience, Ray-Traced Global Illumination is enabled in all graphics modes on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Ray-Traced Specular Reflections are available in Balanced and Fidelity modes on PS5, and across all graphics modes on PS5 Pro. Continuous detail with micropolygon geometry One of the key visual improvements in Black Flag Resynced comes from how we handle geometry at scale. Traditional rendering pipelines rely on discrete levels of detail, switching between simplified models as the player moves through the world. While effective, this approach can sometimes introduce noticeable visual popping. With our Micropolygon geometry pipeline, we take a different approach. Instead of switching between fixed models, geometry is continuously refined based on distance, visibility, and camera perspective. This continuous level of detail is enabled by the PlayStation 5’s ultra-high-speed SSD, which allows Anvil to instantly stream, virtualize, and render tiny geometric clusters. This lets environments and assets scale smoothly from close-up detail to distant silhouettes without noticeable transitions. PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements The PlayStation 5 Pro includes all the features of the base PlayStation 5 but adds significantly more GPU power and enhanced ray‑tracing performance, giving additional headroom for higher fidelity and more stable performance. Across all graphics modes, players on PS5 Pro benefit from extended ray tracing support, including both Ray-Traced Global Illumination and Ray-Traced Specular Reflections. This enables richer lighting and reflection quality while maintaining higher performance targets across Performance, Balanced, and Fidelity modes. We’ve also expanded our strand-based hair on PS5 Pro. Rather than relying solely on traditional hair cards, the engine can simulate and render individual strands for more natural motion and response to wind. All of this allows us to get a very realistic hair render for our characters. On PS5 Pro, strand-based hair is available for Edward in all modes. In Fidelity mode, nearby crowd characters also benefit from strand simulation during gameplay, while cinematics use strand-based hair for all characters regardless of mode. In addition, Black Flag Resynced supports the latest version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), helping deliver better image quality and improved reconstruction, reducing the visual gap between performance and fidelity modes. A living world driven by Anvil’s Atmos Black Flag Resynced simulates weather in real time through Atmos, the systemic weather simulation framework in our Anvil engine. Rather than treating weather as a set of isolated effects, Atmos continuously simulates variables such as temperature, humidity, wind, and vapor density. These systems evolve over time and influence one another, producing more coherent and dynamic weather. This same simulation extends into gameplay and environmental interaction. Wind affects not only cloud movement and storms at sea, but also vegetation, cloth, particles, sails, and character hair. The result is a world that doesn’t just look alive but feels physically connected as well. A richer ocean The ocean has always been at the heart of Black Flag, and modernizing its rendering was a key focus for this project. Black Flag Resynced introduces a fully modernized water system, based on a physically based rendering pipeline. New tessellation technique, volumetric foam generation, and dynamic bubble systems add more details to the water surface. These updates allow the sea to respond more naturally to wind conditions, weather, and ship movement. The sea now plays an even greater role in shaping both the mood and moment-to-moment experience of navigation and combat. Prepare for a more immersive experience When rebuilding Assassin’s Creed Black Flag on the latest version of Anvil, our goal wasn’t only to modernize technology. We wanted to strengthen the sense of immersion, adventure, and discovery that made Edward Kenway’s journey so memorable in the first place. PlayStation 5 hardware has given us the opportunity to push that experience further than ever before, from the way the world looks and sounds, to how it feels. Whether you’re returning to relive a favorite adventure, or setting sail with Edward for the first time, we’re excited to welcome you to the Caribbean when Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launches on July 9 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro.

Title: Blade, Loki, Deadpool announced for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Date: Mon, 29 Jun 2026 01:38:56 +0000 Link: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/06/28/blade-loki-deadpool-announced-for-marvel-tokon-fighting-souls/ Hello everyone! I’m Takeshi Yamanaka, producer of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Did you get a chance to check out the final team trailer revealed today, Sunday, June 28 at EVO 2026 —the “Samurai Outriders”? If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to watch it below. Play Video Fifth and final team revealed: Samurai Outriders View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image Ghost Rider (voiced by Giancarlo Sabogal), who had already been revealed, is now joined by Blade (voiced by Imari Williams), Loki (voiced by Jason Spisak), and Deadpool (voiced by Nolan North) to form a new team. Not the Midnight Sons—but the Samurai Outriders. Were you expecting this lineup? The Samurai Outriders are a group of dark heroes. As you might expect, they don’t start out as a cohesive unit… in fact, they’re quite the opposite. As they face threats to the world, how each of them—and the team as a whole—grows and evolves is something you can look forward to experiencing in Episode Mode. New Stage: Asgard View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image We’re also excited to reveal a new stage: Asgard. Asgard is known in the Marvel Universe as the “Realm of the Gods,” said to sit at the pinnacle of the Nine Realms. It is a land that combines advanced magic with science and technology, ruled by King Odin, and home to Thor Odinson and Loki. In this title, Asgard appears as a battle stage composed of five areas: the Observatory, Bifrost Bridge, Throne Room, Treasure Vault, and Yggdrasil, the World Tree. New playable characters Blade View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image Blade, whose real name is Eric Brooks, was born as a human-vampire hybrid after his mother was attacked by a vampire during pregnancy. Seeking revenge against the monsters who killed his mother, he became a vampire hunter, fighting against evil blood-sucking creatures. In this title, Blade has completed his training in Japan, gaining even greater physical and mental strength. He wields the demon-slaying sword Muramasa, a weapon capable of slicing through gods. Muramasa is normally kept sealed with its power restrained, but when Blade releases that power, the blade turns red and reveals its true potential. He specializes in an aggressive combat style, skillfully handling a variety of deadly tools including Muramasa, machine guns, and glaives. One of his unique abilities, Heartstopper, throws a stake that pins the opponent in place and allows Blade to close the distance at incredible speed. When it hits, Muramasa glows red, enhancing the performance of his sword-based skills. Closing in instantly and delivering powerful slashes, Blade truly lives up to the name of a hunter. Loki View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image Loki Laufeyson, the adoptive brother of Thor, is known as the “God of Mischief” and the “God of Lies.” Though raised in Asgard by Odin, he is actually the son of Laufey, king of the Frost Giants. Originally a villain, Loki is attempting to turn over a new leaf and become a hero in this title. As part of the Samurai Outriders, he makes full use of his powers of deception. His combat style excels at trickery, with many skills incorporating feints and counters using illusions. He also uses projectiles based on ice and magic, combined with clever use of erratic movements to constantly confuse opponents. True to his mischievous nature, he can dish out frustrating and deceptive attacks—but if his tricks are exposed, he may be punished heavily. Loki is a uniquely unpredictable character who takes advantage of his opponent’s bad habits. Deadpool View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image Wade Wilson, a Canadian mercenary, grew up in a troubled household and eventually left home. After receiving extensive military training, he served in special forces but was later diagnosed with cancer. As part of the Weapon X Program, he was injected with a healing serum derived from Wolverine’s blood. While it saved his life and granted him superhuman regeneration, it also left his body severely scarred and his mind unstable. Deadpool’s combat style reflects his reckless nature, enabled by his powerful healing factor. He uses guns, grenades, and swords, along with high-risk techniques that involve taking damage himself. In this title, Deadpool has somehow obtained a game strategy guide from beyond the fourth wall, granting him access to a variety of unique attacks from fighting games of legend. Filled with a love for hype and excitement, he enters the arena with an outrageous arsenal of crowd-pleasing moves. Character Guide trailers Leading up to launch, we will be releasing deep dive trailers for all playable characters. These trailers take a closer look at each character’s battle mechanics, including default color options, normal move animations, skills, super moves, ultimate abilities, and assist types. Upcoming events With launch fast approaching, the development team is entering the final stretch! We will be holding a global Open Beta* on PS5 and PC from July 24-26 (PT). Here’s a roundup of what you need to know. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection New content for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launches today, with the arrival of the paid DLC, Additional Side Story: Rudy, as well as a free update that adds powerful endgame challenges. Fans of Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will recognize the return of Navirou, who once journeyed alongside the protagonists of each respective game, and is an ancestor of the Royal Felyne, Rudy. Additional Side Story: Rudy digs deeper in Navirou’s fate in the past 200 years, bringing ancestor and descendant face-to-face in an unexpected twist. Nergigante, the iconic flagship monster from Monster Hunter: World, returns as a formidable threat in this DLC. This destructive Elder Dragon is a bit too rowdy to tame as a Monstie, but you can expect a memorable challenge as you take on this spiky predator in a climactic battle. How will Rudy, Navirou, and crew overcome the power of the extinction dragon? Additional Side Story: Rudy is available as a standalone DLC as well as part of the Deluxe Edition and Premium Deluxe editions. Check PlayStation Store and see what awaits you in this new adventure. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection also receives a free update adding powerful endgame challenges called Royal Monsters. Riders can load their completed save file and take on an even harder version of the final boss. Defeat this version of the final boss, and the existing world will be populated with powerful Royal Monsters. You can also test your limits even further by taking on Royal Monster versions of invasive monsters and Calamitous Elder Dragons. New details on Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Two years after the original launch of Dragon’s Dogma 2, the grand fantasy adventure has returned as Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. Enhanced with major updates and the Dark Arisen Expansion, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen arrives both as a bundle package for new players, and as a standalone expansion on October 9.  During Capcom Spotlight, Director Kento Kinoshita – who also directed the original Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen – shared the team’s desire to deliver on requests from fans to continue exploring the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 even further. With that in mind, the team invites players to a mysterious new frigid northern area called Norgan. You’ll uncover the story behind a Fallen Dragon, bearing an eerie form with a missing heart, along with its pursuer, a mysterious woman named Eir. In the Norgan area, the addictive gameplay loop first established in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, makes a return as the Relic Expedition Cycle. Battle through formidable foes and gather relics, then bring them back for appraisal into stronger weapons and armor. Powerful treasure awaits with every adventure during your pursuits in Norgan. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen also introduces 12 new unique dungeons called Lost Rites. Rare equipment once held by past Arisen awaits you in these dungeon challenges, which take place in the existing world of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Additional hairstyles and tattoo options are coming with the expansion as well, bringing even greater variety to the versatile character creation options. The base Dragon’s Dogma 2 game was recently updated with a variety of quality-of-life features, too. Ahead of the launch of the expansion, we’ll be releasing a second free update in late August which adds further gameplay improvements highly requested by players, such as additional save slots, an increase of weapon skill slots from four to six, and performance improvements. Pre-orders begin today on PS5 in most regions and will roll out to all countries in early July. Those who pre-order will receive the Norgan Fashion Set – Northern Attire, which can be obtained whether you pre-order the bundle or standalone expansion. Those who pre-order the bundle will immediately receive access to the base Dragon’s Dogma 2 game. Whether you’re a new Arisen or are returning to make the adventure into Norgan, we can’t wait for you to experience what awaits in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen when it arrives on PS5, October 9. New enemy revealed in Onimusha: Way of the Sword The latest swordplay action game in Capcom’s acclaimed series is nearly here with Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The iconic samurai swordplay series which first began on PlayStation 2 is back with an all-new entry for the first time in 20 years, bringing its signature mix of satisfying samurai action and dark fantasy. Take up the katana of protagonist Miyamoto Musashi, slain by twisted creatures called Genma, and suddenly revived with mysterious Oni powers. Now bearing an Oni Gauntlet, Musashi searches for his reason to fight amidst hordes of powerful Genma in a twisted, dark fantasy version of Edo-period Kyoto. During Capcom Spotlight, Director Satoru Nihei revealed a look at a powerful new Genma enemy: Dohatsu-ten. Have a look at this fearsome new foe for yourself. Dohatsu-ten is a powerful boss enemy with both strength and speed on his side, relentlessly attacking our protagonist Miyamoto Musashi with swift and devastating movements. Unique to this Genma is the bloodthirsty nature of its sword, which becomes increasingly powerful when stained with Musashi’s blood. Beware its surging power as it absorbs souls and becomes even more dangerous. Onimusha: Way of the Sword slashes onto PS5 this September. Get a taste of early action in the game with the free demo on PlayStation Store!

Nope. I'm good, thanks. None of those are exactly what former Archetype Entertainment studio head and BioWare veteran James Ohlen said when Hasbro asked him if he fancied making a Baldur's Gate 4, but they essentially capture the jist. Despite having worked on the RPG series before, the former boss behind upcoming sci-fi RPG Exodus wasn't keen in picking up the baton Larian had tossed aside, mainly because trying to live up to the expectations their last work set would be a hugely daunting task. To put that quote in context, the company laid off around 1900 Microsoft gaming workers back in January 2024. Xbox unions are even now haggling with management to protect jobs or at least, ensure decent severance packages for anybody affected by the margin-boosting cull. Read more

That’s just the fate of Dbrand’s unofficial Steam Machine Companion Cube case, a smartly made (if overpriced and kind of pointless) Portal-themed accessory that it turns out was so unofficial, Dbrand never actually had permission from Valve to sell it. So, now they aren’t, and have issued refunds to anyone who ordered one. Read more
